In this case, it's because you're calling something fraud when it's not actually fraud.

As the article says, they're taking advantage of a quirk in the law. That means it's legal. If it's legal, it's not fraud.

If you think vote fraud and election fraud are limited to democrats, you are sorely mistaken. It's everyone, and the ones that commit the most offenses in any given area are the ones in power. The democratic model of vote fraud is well publicized due mainly to the old machine politics of NY and Chicago. But it happens just about anywhere, and just about everyone is looking to game the system any way they can to get an advantage. And the ones who hold power in any given state or municipality are the ones who are most successful at doing so.

I’m happy to announce that the mainstream news media are beginning to cover the story of rampant voter fraud perpetrated by liberal organizations such as ACORN. I’ve been covering this story for years as part of my overall coverage of illegal aliens and immigration.
While Barack Obama is scolding AIG and corporate America, he’s served as an attorney for ACORN in the past, and has not once mentioned the federal investigation of that organization.

"Sarah Palin suffering typical Christian persecution
By Grant Swank Friday, September 26, 2008

Sarah Palin, evangelical, is going through the typical persecution theological and political liberals level against biblical believers.

She’s being slammed by cartoons and editorials for her biblical ethics. She is maligned for attending evangelical churches in Alaska, the Assembly of God in particular.

She’s being put down because of her defense of biblical morality regarding defending womb babies and endorsing the Bible’s definition of family and marriage.

Comedians are slicing and dicing her, even grossly vulgar on occasion.

Liberal talk show regulars delight in poking fun at her as mother and wife as well as devout Christian.

And so it goes. Add to this the usual liberal media bias for B. Hussein Obama with the liberal media sidelining misstatements by Joe Biden and Obama’s leftist connections over decades.

However, what Sarah Palin and husband Todd are going through now is typical of what every evangelical worldwide lives with daily in the grassroots. It is part and parcel of being a biblical believer.

“Those of like faith” is a phrase used by biblical believers when they gather together for worship and fellowship. That phrase points to the fact that biblical believers realize that when in the same room, for instance, there is the presence of the Holy Spirit among them. They are as one.

When these same believers are in a secular forum, they sense the spiritual opposition in the unholy spirit being present. That spirit wars against their ethic, their simply being there as a bodily entity.

All of this is customary to biblical believers.

What do they do about it? They do as their Leader
Christ instructed. He told them to pray for their enemies, commit to Him these attacks and live for the final divine will to be the outcome.

So it is that Sarah Palin has already committed to her Leader Christ her political journey, including its outcome. She is managing it. Christ is managing it.

In that is her power, poise and peace."

Whatever his aim, RFK Jr. does not appear intent on fixing the problem. He's more content to take us through a hit parade of the most popular, and the most dismissible, theories purporting to show that John Kerry won Ohio, theories that have been swirling about the blogosphere ever since the race was called. I scoured his Rolling Stone article for some novel story or statistic or theory that would prove, finally, that George W. Bush was not the true victor. But nothing here is new. If you've spent time on Democratic Underground or have read Mark Crispin Miller's "Fooled Again," you're already familiar with everything Kennedy has to say.

If you do read Kennedy's article, be prepared to machete your way through numerous errors of interpretation and his deliberate omission of key bits of data.

Look, I realize Fox News is biased. You obviously think it is, too.

But you do realize this piece was written by a Kennedy, right? And that while it does call into question many of Blackwell's decisions, at no point could anyone objectively look at this as being the exact same as falsifying voter registration records.

I'm not going to suggest one party has cornered the market on this while the other is pure as the driven snow. But it does strike me that a group that complained so vociferously after the 2000 election is adamantly opposed to enacting common sense measures like making it mandatory that a government issued photo ID be presented in order to vote.

As long as people are allowed to vote without presenting such an ID, voter irregularities at best and voter fraud at worst will exist.

here is another interesting article about ACORN and their illegal ways:
http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/5436

Voter fraud: How ACORN/Obama Democrats plan to win the election

Two years ago, I received a notice in the mail from the Delaware County voter registration office in Media, stating that my request to vote in the county was denied. The document accurately stated my name and my home residence.
Since I had not sent in such a request, and I had in fact been voting in the Commonwealth regularly since 1980, the notice took me by surprise. Instructed to call a number for further information, I soon learned that someone from an organization called Acorn (which I mistakenly assumed was an environmental group) was trying to deprive me of my right to vote, and place someone, presumably of the same name, in the voting booth in my hometown in my place.
I probed further and found out that a good number (at least several dozen) of my fellow Delaware Counteans had been subjected to the same experience, and that the District Attorney was planning to prosecute whomever was to blame.
This was simply incredible. Was this the Soviet Union? Nazi Germany? Who in their right mind would take a risk of having me show up at the polling place at the same time as the imposter? Did Acorn’s operatives not believe I and the other taxpayers they wronged have a right to vote? I have no knowledge of the outcome of any case resulting from Acorn’s voter fraud (http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/5436#) in Delaware County. However, I cannot help but imagine that if the case were about a Republican Party conspiracy to defraud voters in a largely Democratic district, there would have been no shortage of media coverage (to put it mildly).

First Presidential Election Decided by Voter Fraud?

By Sher Zieve Monday, October 6, 2008

Will 2008 finally be the first US presidential race to be decided by voter fraud (http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/5404#) and the leftist mainstream press? It appears that it just may be. The press has been nonstop in its glorification of Democrat Obama, vilification of McCain and barbs, false rumors and jokes waged against Sarah Palin.
Prior to Obama beginning his campaign for POTUS, cable channel MSNBC had already announced its intention to go ‘all leftist all of the time’. NBC has aired multiple positive “documentaries” about Barack Obama while discounting John McCain. Obama’s group ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) is under suspicion or indictment of its members in at least 14 states.

As long as people are allowed to vote without presenting such an ID, voter irregularities at best and voter fraud at worst will exist.I realize who wrote it and I realize that Rolling Stone is VERY liberal in it's slant. I also had already read the Slate article and don't really believe the issues raised in the Rolling Stone article.

My reason for posting it is to demonstrate that there are MANY people on BOTH sides being accused of doing things that are wrong. Some are obvious, some are well written and more difficult to see through, most are false and of the ones which are true, they are equal on both sides.

The initial premise of this thread was not only false, but misleading: that only Democrats engage in voter fraud. Both do it. There's too much money to lose by NOT doing it.

That's all.
