I've been expecting them to go under and move away for a while now unfortunately.

Maybe when it goes away, it'll take Jefe Taylor with it.

It's unfortunate, but as people and businesses are cutting travel, it is only natural that people would also cut travel-related costs, like rental cars.

If Dollar is to make it and not go under or leave Tulsa, it needs to rethink it's strategy during these... whatever awful way's the most popular way to refer to our sheedy economy.

Here are some humble suggestions:

1- Compare daily rental rates to cabbie rates at major travel destinations or business areas. People don't think a rental would be cheaper, but it definitely is if you have a lot of ground to cover.

2- Frequent renter discounts. If people aren't willing to give up their personal gas guzzlers, perhaps a little encouragement to take single-day trips in an gas sipper car would encourage rental.

3- Hidden fees to make up costs. If they aren't doing this already, my goodness there's a lot of rental fees, from insurance to other gimmicks like GPS service.

4- Promos to take away the hidden fees. For frequent renters who are aware of the hidden fees, perhaps a promo or two would persuade them to chose Dollar over, say, Budget or Thrifty or Alamo or Enterprise or whatever.
