$2.74!

I still have a hard time getting excited about gas being over $2.00 per gallon but after what we've seen the last few months I have to admit when I saw $2.89 last night...I felt a little better.

I also wonder how long it will last though...

No confidence.

I gots it. :(

$2.79 here in Norman now. My only question now is when it will fall again.

Meanwhile, RBOB Gasoline is currently trading below $2.00 on the NYMEX. Usually, the national average is about $1.00 higher than that number.

Gas Buddy is reporting the prices are starting to tumble in the Tulsa area, out north on Highway 20 in Skiatook(I think this is the Mr Bass convenience store)Phillips 66 is reporting 2.50 gas.
Murphy out in Claremore is showing 2.65 this morning.
I doubt it will happen, but it appears we might be seeing 1.99 gas soon...but how long that will last is beyond me.

Heh.

Just an FYI, my Mustang is actually getting 26-27 mpg with that "watered down" stuff. I had been anal about putting "real gas" into my car for a while, but then I figured my car is 12 years old, why baby the damn thing?

I went from 24-25 burning nothing but the alcohol free stuff to to a steady 26 sometimes a little higher than 27. I ain't gonna lie, car ran like **** first full tank of the E-10, freaked me the hell out so I took it to a mechanic I know. He said the E-10 actually flushes a lot of the build up out of your system and that crap can plug your fuel filter and injectors. Had him replace the filter and clean the injectors, and my Mustang is purring like a kitteh now.

'Twas $2.69 last night.

For you holdouts, please do the math and research to realize that a half tank of gas or less is not fuel efficient. Also realize that with a 10 gallon tank of gas a 10 cent price drop will save you a grand total of $1.

Thus, be efficient and fill 'er up. When I was in grade school and saw dad drive around to find the cheapest gas station by a few cents, I had the good sense to not tell him that he was only saving a grand total of 30 cents.

:D But, since I'm not directly in your face, South Oval, I would be happy to share this insight with you :D

:) We have no place for facts in my anonymous line of reasoning! :)

Seriously, though, here is a resource for you: (http://www.madsci.org/posts/archives/2005-06/1119282538.Eg.r.html)

It all depends on what type of mode of transportation you have and what type of transporting you're doing. If it's highway aka longer distances, you're better off not starting/stopping a lot to refuel. If it's commuting aka shorter distances, you're better off carrying less fuel weight around with you... but it doesn't make that much of a difference.
