I happen to think he's a great coach, but if this website is correct, Auburn may try to take him off your hands if Tuberville keeps moving up the hotseat list--

He would be a defense guy replacing a defense guy in Tubs.

Probably not. I hope you're right. Venables is a dang good DC and has great HC potential. I certainly don't want him going to my in-state rival.

Venables is worse than John Blake and does not ever deserve a head coaching job. You should be happy when Auburn hires him.

So this means they're getting Pinkel?

Why would Tuberville be on the hot seat? He's beat Bama 6 straight years and was able to stay throughout all that Lowder BS. Sure, he made a terrible hire with Franklin but that's not grounds to fire him.

If Auburn thinks they're entitled to superiority over Saban and Alabama then they are sorely mistaken. Pay respect to the coach that has given them great success in recent years and don't make a huge mistake in believing you can get a better hire - you can't.

Worse then Blake? Certainly not! But despite the fact I have no qualms with the job he's done so far this year I would not regret seeing him go.

edit...I've been saying this for a couple of years now so this is not new for me, and to earn my complete trust (FWIW) he still has a ways to go...Like maybe holding someone down in a big bowl game.

Thankfully, I do not know any. We'd probably go fisticuff over 2004.

I just realized that's probably another reason why OU and Bama fans get along so well.
