!984 or 1994,either way I am not watching.It means either being pi$$ed off at the cheatin Horns (1984,15-15) who salvage a tie from a loss or get mad all over again at Gibbs' utter incompetence as a big game coach (1994,10-17).Gibbs after laid the groundwork for Blake by going 2-15-1 against THE BIG 3 on OU's scedhule(UT,CU,NU) and finshing 1994 with a 6-6 record including humiliating losses against CU and BYU in that 1994 season.Either way,thanks but no thanks.

A couple of observations:

1) Watson Brown was our Offensive Coordinator???? God, they just let anybody on that coaching staff, didn't they?


2) Anybody notice the pretty impressive shiner on Dean Blevins' left eye? He get into a bar fight or something?

I think the Sooner gear thing was a college football phenomenon, not just a Sooner thing. It wasn't until the late 90's that you started to see stadiums full of their school colors everywhere. Check out some of these pictures of the top teams/players of 1997. I tried to find pics that showed a lot of the crowd behind them. Not a lot of school colors being worn.

Well, okay, I'm having a hard time coming across very many more. Suffice it to say that I know that in the televised broadcast of the 1995 OU/Texas game (which was a game between two Top 20 teams), you can tell where the crowd is divided, but only if you know to look for it. It's nothing like it is now where it jumps out at you.

This game is proof of TopDawg's observation. I see VERY little crimson or burnt orange in the stands, and the split is virtually indistinguishable.

Year after year his teams walked into the Cotton Bowl looking like they were there for a light scrimmage and seemed shocked and a little hurt that Texas didn't approach it the same way.
