When does the team leave for Waco and how will they travel by plane?

Does the big semi travel to many games?

As far as I know, Sooner One (the big semi) goes pretty much everywhere. But I could be wrong. No idea about whether the team goes by plane, train, or automobile.

I would assume they would take a bus. I mean is Waco really a flight worthy trip?

What kinda partying do you think they do after wins?

I suspect they're flying. I think the semi always goes to away games. There's a ton of equipment and whatnot to take along. Didn't ESPN do a behind-the-scenes, sort of following the Sooners a few years ago? If memory serves, they did one edition that talked about what's involved in taking a team on the road...but I could be remembering something else.

I think they fly everywhere except Stilly and Tulsa.

I think Sooner One goes everywhere. Too bad they didn't bring spikes along to... nevermind.

They are already in town. They are staying at the Clarion Inn. The Clarion is at the Corner of I-35 and University Parks Drive.

I remember Baylor use to stay there too, on home games.

Why would they fly? It's only like a 4hour drive from norman. It would take longer than that to fly (not actual flight time).

When your coach is making millions, you can do everything first class. haha

I know the team left at 2:30 in buses escorted by OHP as I had to pull to the side of the road on Lindsey Street to let them pass. Don't know whether they were off to board a plane or not.

It's not like they go down to Will Rogers, go through security, then settle into their business class seats.

A plane is waiting on them. They show up, walk onto the plane, and take off. Beats the socks off of driving.

They bus to Dallas for OU-Texas. Waco isn't that much farther.

I know we bus when we go to Norman, because I've passed the team on the way home.

Prolly right, but the third bus has not only staff but guests. I guess they must charter a big plane. Lot shorter trip flying.

Not to mention that they aren't taking the big yellow school bus like we did for road games in high school.

The drive to lawton SUCKED!

I flew back (commercial) to DC from OKC and I sat next to Najera and some of the other guys. Granted a lot less people fly with the BBall team and it was across the country and this post has nothing to do with this thread but still

I flew from Dallas to Tulsa once with the OSU basketball team. It was a regular commercial flight.

Actually, the same security measures are in place that we all go through every time we board. Being a charter flight doesn't grant any special privileges.

Granted, the bells and whitstles might be better than standard class.

My sources in the OU athletic department said that they flew Air Oklahoma and Sam was the pilot.

It looks like they flew (http://flightaware.com/live/flight/AAL9474).And they chartered an AA flight. Nice.

My dad works for them out here in Indy. He says they have team charters all the time. He's seen Peyton Manning, and any number of other players/coaches from other teams.

Wow...757 to Waco, nice...unneccesary, but nice. Yeah, they fly everywhere but Dallas and Stillwater. Are you sure they have to go through security? I'm pretty sure charter is essentially a GA type flight, but if it's an AA plane then they probably do have to go through security since they leave from the main terminal and not an FBO.

I don't want to be a jerk, but if I call up BlueStar and have them pick me up at O47 I really don't think they're gonna bring a TSA agent and a metal detector with them.
