Does it even matter? The only reason you think USC should be below Georgia is because you hate them more. USC was ranked two spots higher, lost by less AND lost on the road. If you take your personal feelings out of it, logic says they're in the order they should be.

When has logic ever played a role when blind, irrational hatred of a sports team is involved?

So you're saying that if OU loses by six this week at Baylor, and someone else trails a ranked opponent 31-0 at half before rallying to make it look semi-respectable, you'd be cool with that team being ranked higher than OU?

Bama is closely ranked 2nd in the AP but is ranked 4th in the Coaches. LSU is 2nd, Mizzou is 3rd, texas is 5th in both.

Just asking, does the opponent matter? Reportedly the PAC 10 is not a very good conference backed up by a supposed #1 team losing to a team that is not good in a bad conference. Georgia lost to a good Bama team in a good conference.

Fact is that the beavers dominated SUC for at least 2 quarters...and won the game. The beavers aren't a very good team (or aren't supposed to be and they weren't supposed to be when they beat SUC). Bama is a good team and beat Georgia who was supposedly a good team when they lost to Bama. Therefore logic tells me that SUC should have fallen behind Georgia

Guys,

I know you hate Saban for obvious reasons, but come on. It's rather obvious that USC IS THE MEDIA DARLING--they are still within BCS striking distance after losing to an unranked team. At least we've managed to beat two top 10 teams rather convincingly. And after the way we sodomized Georgia last night, I'd say we've had to WORK for what poll recognition we've gotten. You're kidding yourselves if you think for one minute anyone in the MSM wants to see US do well....

Re-read my post Mr. defensive.
I never said you guys aren't a good team...I never said you don't deserve to be #2....what I said and implied is that the media loves Saban and the buzz he carries with him, therefore the media is going to be in a lovefest with Saban and Bama. That's not taking anything away from what you all did to earn that #2 spot...and that's not saying your team sucks by any means.

However, it doesn't hurt Bama at all knowing the media tends to favor the SEC. That's only going to help your team's cause.

I agree that usc is....and I think that now you will be too. It's like I said, the media favors the SEC....the team you support happens to be in the SEC, so that tells me that there is a high possibility of the media having a lovefest with your team. Again, that's not saying the media is the reason you are ranked #2...you all are #2 because you deserve to be #2.

Great job last night. But I'd take that team we played last night over that first "top 10" team you guys played.

Why the **** is USC above Georgia.

Simple:

because USC was beaten by a team not in the top 25 (prolly not top 100) and Georgia was beaten by a team in the top ten.

Very simple equation really.

We should all be prepared for that to happen.

At this point, I don't see why they shouldn't be. Saban's only been there a couple of years, and they're 5-0 and they just molested Georgia which started out #1 this year.

They've still gotta play LSU and Auburn, and possibly whoever wins the SEC East. If they don't belong, it'll show.

Very true. We don't have any more gimmes on the schedule, accept maybe Arkie State, and hell they beat AM, so scratch them off too as an automatic win.

I suspect we'll handle Kentucky rather easily, but Ole Miss will be another story. From here on out we will have to earn our keep to stay ranked as high as we are. We know that, and so does Nick.

If you should be #2 since you beat #2, then why isn't Oregon State #1 since they beat #1 and did just as good a job at it as you did with Georgia. Personally, I think that Georgia and USC both were overrated and got what they deserved. Georgia more so then USC! However, I'm not so sure that you should have gone all the way to #2. Personally, I think the coaches poll got it right this week. Having said that, have any of the teams played enough good teams to really know how good any team really is? Not yet, but we will be finding out in the next 2 to 3 weeks. As good as we are, we could not run last night. If Texas stops our run game like TCU did last night, will we be able to beat them with only the pass? I sure hope so, but I don't know. I'll let you know the answer to that question in a couple of weeks.
