I'm making another batch of homemade coffee liquer (kahlua).
I pretty much hybrid-ize the recipes I've found into something like this:
I pot of strong coffee. Plus a couple tbsp.s of instant coffee.
1.5 cups white sugar, 1.5 cups brown sugar.
-Boil all of this in a saucepan and turn off the heat.
Let it stand an hour or until you get bored.
Mix with 2 cups rum (this is important, most recipes will call for vodka and it's no good in the kahlua), brandy, or bourbon whisky.
Add a tsp of vanilla extract and/or a whole or 1/2 vanilla bean (little suckers are expensive but worth it).
Put it in a liquor bottle and keep it in a dark place for 3-4 weeks.
Add to coffee and drink.
