Lighten up, d00d. She has only spoken in public a few times without a teleprompter since her big debutante party and they've been disastrous. At least SNL has the guts to laugh about it. The alternative isn't as much fun.

Feys Palin impersonation almost makes me want to bang Tina Fey. SNLs cast is too talented to be putting out these weak shows. Forte, Hader, Samburg, Sedakis, Wiig, and Armeson are all great. The token Thompson needs to go because he's not funny. Poehler is horrible too.

Couric exposing what a fraud and embarrassment Palins is isn't BS, it's painful reality.

I'm glad SNL is taking the time to punch Palin's ticket. She's a joke in herself.

Palin will learn to handle ridiculously veiled opposition during an interview. She's not sufficiently cynical towards the liberal media yet. And she may not've realized before granting that interview that Couric is the consummate left-wing champion.

Before I get bashed, let me repeat that I don't care who wins. My vote doesn't count. No matter what I say, how I feel, or how much I pray, McCain will carry Texas 65%-35%. On voting day, I'll just stay home and let Ohio decide who is my next president.

This is exactly why we need to change the way the electoral college works. Popular vote should choose the president in my opinion.

I'm not so sure it will come down to Ohio. I know there are five weeks until the election, but McCain is in some trouble right now. Over the last couple of weeks Obama has started solidifying the states which went blue in 2004, and he is ahead in Iowa, Colorado, and New Mexico. If he wins all of these states, he has enough electoral votes to win the Presidency. More troubling for McCain is the fact formerly red states like Virginia, North Carolina, Nevada, Florida, and Ohio, have become very close, some toss-up or even slightly leaning to Obama. McCain cannot afford to lose any one of these states. Right now he is about 6-7 pts. down in the national polls, so he has some ground to make up. It will likely become closer as the election approaches, but he is definitely the underdog right now and has lots of ground to make up.

W tried that already. Remember the 152 billion in stimulus checks he gave out? So, you'd advocate another government handout? This time it'd be just over 4 times as big per person (roughly). So you think if you give everyone $2500 bucks that that would make a long term difference in anyone's life? A married couple would get around 5k. How much of a difference, honestly, would 5k make to you in the long term? For most it'd help reduce some debt, possibly spur the economy on a bit as they spent some cash at teh mallz, but what would it do in the long run other than help keep people on the govt. teet? I can't believe McCain supporters are actively supporting a socialist endeavor. It boggles my mind.

Now you went and jumped to a conclusion that I support the $700 billion being spent to buy up this bad debt, now didn't you?

Johnny, Couric posed that exact same trick question to Palin in the interview. I wasn't insinuating anything directly at you, and wasn't expecting an answer. You didn't fare much better, btw.

See the brazillion different explanations that have been given on this matter on this board.

Short answer: Banks are increasing reserve requirements. Credit markets are locking up. This sort of thing was pretty much the largest contributor to the Great Depression. Given that (1) living in Great Depressions is not fun and (2) cleaning up bank balance sheets actually has a hope in hell of solving this problem and (3) giving money to consumer doesn't, you spend $700 billion bailing out the banks instead of giving it to consumers.

You must not have watched the Couric interview.
Sure did. Couric's agenda showed as clearly as the azzcrack on a 5'6" 300lb plumber squatting down to diagnose a malfunctioning In-sink-erator. By the time they got done editing it they did a fantastic job of making Palin look like an absolute horse's ***. You've made a big stink about Palin not taking interviews; well jeebus, do you blame them? Every interview she's done has turned out to be a negatively edited piece of thinly disguised attack journalism. Look at the interview Charles Gibson did...it's as hacked up to twist context as the mock interviews Chelsea Handler does on her show.

And while I'm yammering about ridiculously obvious bias, how about those yainches on The View? When Obama was on it was all Whoopi could do to not give him a hummer while Behar worked it with a nice rimmer. McCain comes on and they at least restrained themselves from spitting on him.

I'm not saying that Palin doesn't say some things that sound retarded: she does. But so does every other candidate, including His Holiness. The difference is that His Holiness get to be interviewed by fawning sycophants who pitch him softballs to I could compose a "Presidential" sounding answer.

I honestly used to laugh when conservatives started whining about liberal bias in the media. I thought there was a slight lean left, but nothing that warranted moaning and gnashing of teeth.

Then this election came along, and every single network not Fox News (and I'm not saying they're objective either) has fallen all over themselves anointing His Holiness and seeking out opportunities to slime McCain/Palin.

just what are the qualifications to be president? im curious ..

bush was governor of texas for 6 years. so he had executive experience.

clinton was governor of arkansas for 9 years. so he also had executive experience.

bush 1 was an 8 year vp, cia director, and an ambassador. he was also in the house of reps. so he had quite a bit of executive experience

why do we keep mentioning palin's qualifications to be president when she is running for vp? if your argument the "just incase" argument, then why isnt the media examining biden's presidential qualifications?

35 year senator. so he's been in the club for a while. he has lots of legislative experience.

obama- a little over halfway through his first term in the senate. spent 8 years in the state senate of IL.

mccain- been in congress for 25 years. so he's been in the club for a while too. lots of legislative experience.

palin- 6 year mayor, 2 year governor, 4 years in city council. not a "lot " of experience, but its still executive experience, so she is used to having to make binding decisions.

what is the difference here? the 3 men that have been running the country for the past 20 years all have had executive experience by either being a governor, a vp, or being the boss of a government agency. of the 4 people trying to get a foot in the white house in january, only one actually has executive experience (palin) . there is a huge difference between executive decision making, where you are the one who makes all the decisions, and the decision making that legislators make. the last legislator (congressman, senator) that was elected president was kennedy. i dont know what kind of coincidence it is, but it seems that america has a thing for people with executive experience.

so if youre talking about experience being important, in the eyes of the media, why isnt mccain's resume any more impressive tham obamas? just 10 years ago nobody even knew he existed. a lot happened for him between 2000 and 2004. he couldnt win a seat in the house in the 2000 election, but he was the keynote speaker in the 04 dnc.

with this in mind, and executive experience being a common bind between the past few u.s. presidents, why is palin so unimpressive and getting flack that biden isnt?

or am i crazy and just imagining the bias?

Since when does a fella ask for a verbose, fluid description of the happenings as he's detonating some hot, sweet ***?

Oh yeah, baby! Write me a 500 word dissertation on how I'm detonating your va-jay-jay! YEAH! Use those big, 20 dollar words, you naughty little librarian!

It is what it is, Mack. You don't see it as biased reporting or biased journalism because the slant happens to align with your own. You have wholly bought into liberal ideology, ergo media from a liberal perspective isn't a manipulation of reality, it's reporting from the correct perspective.

Do you really think you'd ever see some **** like Couric go after Obama or any other liberal politician with that kind of fervor? Obama and Biden had made public gaffes...why isn't Couric tracking them down with that same nasty little grin affixed to her mug?

It is what it is, Mack. You don't see it as biased reporting or biased journalism because she's merely asking simple questions that a Vice Presidential candidate, much less a State Governor, should be able to answer. You refuse to wholly buy into neo-con ideology, ergo media which is not completely controlled and manipulated by the neo-cons inherently comes from a liberal perspective and is a manipulation of reality.

Haven't you seen some **** like Couric go after Obama or any other liberal politician with that kind of fervor on many occasions? Of course you have. And while Obama and Biden had made public gaffes, which people like Couric have tracked them down and cornered them on, they were able to eloquently answer and meet the challenge instead of looking like a dumb cheerleader who was caught in the headlights by a reporter asking her simple questions which she was unable to answer?Fixed.

Hmm.. the new and improved Palin! Within a week she went from "oh, ****!" to Not bad at all.

McCain's camp should've been wise enough to do training wheels the FIRST time around. I wouldn't assume you could fly a governor from Alaska to Washington and expect her to be ready for primetime interviews by those who strongly oppose her. I guess they did make that assumption.

Thanks for posting it.

Why does John McCain need to be there? That's the question. It makes Palin look small. It makes her look incompetent. Right or wrong, let her fight her own battles. You can't constantly deflect and blame others for your shortcomings. The McCain campaign is clearly in bunker mode. McCain isn't talking to the press on his plane anymore and Palin never has. They've turned this into a woe is me, the media is out to get me campaign. They've been trying for a while now to keep this deflection strategy up. Look at the way they tried to attack Obama over Raines (which you bought into) right before the report came out about Davis still being on the dole from Freddie. The RNC announces its financials on Oct. 15th. I'll bet you a pizza (:D) that the McCain team comes out with something outlandish to deflect attention away from where their money came from before the reporting.

They're allowing this campaign to be an up or down vote on Obama and hoping enough flyover state, Wal-Mart shopping soccer mom's will vote for Sarah because, gosh darn it, they just identify with her. She's just so real.

Yeah, that's a stupid tack. Obama had zip to do with the failure of the bill's passage.

So when the deal fell apart on the House floor Monday, in no small measure because most of the chamber’s Republicans balked at voting for it...

New writers please.

Almost? I think Tina Fey is so hott. I don't know why, there is just something about her. She seems very down to earth, personable, and funny. And sexy.

Echoes

I think this is being blown a little out of proportion guys.

On the original topic, they were poking fun of her because she said some dumb things in the media. Get over it. It's pretty obvious they don't go after Obama quite as hard, but they still do. It goes both ways, and it's funny.

I would bet lots of money you know the real reason they had Fey as Palin on the show again making fun of her? It was a huge ratings boost the first time. It gave them tons of attention, and they need it so bad after the show has done so bad for so long. It has nothing to do with "OMG LIBERAL AGENDA PUSHED ON US" and everything to do with them trying to boost ratings and get more people watching. Simple as that. Take a step back, and calm down.

About the Couric interviews: You gotta give me a break with McCain being there to help her. It looked so ridiculous. Literally, like a pro holding a beginner's hand. Him interjecting and answering questions for her? She is a grown woman and a governor of a state. She needs to handle her own media. She should have went back on there, nailed the second interview, and everything would be grand with me.

I can somewhat understand the first interview. I know she said some dumb things, but everyone makes mistakes. I am sure she was nervous and all that jazz. Again, if she would have went back on with Couric and sounded great, everything would be cool. People soon forget what happens in the past, and the smooth 2nd would have made up for the rough 1st easy.
