The best position to be in when participating in Opinion-Based Sports (NCAA BCS, Gymnastics, Diving, Figure Skating, etc.), is to control your own destiny.

Some folks think OU does better in an underdog situation a la 2000. Others think we can take care of biz from the top.

What do you think?

It's always better to control your own destiny.

Aren't all sports in the NCAA decided through some sort of committee? I mean, there's a committee of people who decide who makes the postseason in every sport.

I don't think spots matter much. We need to win, no matter what we are ranked. If we keep taking care of business like we have, we will be ranked #1... Sooner or later.

To a degree. However, as you know Tommie, most sports automatically seed conference winners, the committees fill out the rest of the tournaments.

While I really want that #1 ranking so we can break the tie with Notre Dame, I think OU has always done better as the underdog.

Remember 2000? We were #1, but #2 FSU was favored in the Orange Bowl. And we all know how that turned out.
