The return of Rufus (http://blogs.startribune.com/vikingsblog/?p=1959)

September 23rd, 2008 – 3:32 PM by Judd Zulgad The Vikings signed linebacker Rufus Alexander to their practice squad and released guard Isaiah Ross today. Alexander was selected by the Vikings in the sixth round of 2007 draft but missed the season after suffering a knee injury in the preseason. Alexander went to training camp with the Vikings this year and was released in the final cuts.
The move gives the Vikings the potential to quickly add depth at linebacker — players on the practice squad are not on the active roster. Backup weak-side linebacker and special-teams ace Vinny Ciurciu suffered a knee injury Sunday against Carolina and was taken from the sideline on a cart. Ciurciu was walking around the Vikings locker room Monday and said he was fine. Coach Brad Childress, however, said during his Monday news conference that he had yet to see the results of an MRI performed on Ciurciu’s knee.
The Vikings other backup linebackers behind starters Chad Greenway, E.J. Henderson and Ben Leber are David Herron and rookie Erin Henderson.

How can someone named Vinny Ciurciu be any good at football? Rufus has to be better then someone named Vinny Ciurciu.
