View Full Version : Sixth String Quarterback. . . . . .

I was just looking on the thread about Boise State beating the University of Oregon Duckies last weekend.

What wasn't discussed in the thread is that the Duckies were on something like their sixth string quarterback in the game -- and even then almost pulled it out, as the score was something like 37-32.

(Maybe it was the sixth starting quarterback in the last year -- anyway, they have had a whole lot of injuries at that position).

Which brings up the question -- how well would the Sooners be doing if they were down to their 5th or 6th string qb?

How well would they do against TCU, for instance?

is there even a 5th qb on the roster?

Our 5th string would be a wide receiver most likely....

So not good.

I think we could use Broyles with his ability and quickness. dont know his arm though. he may not have one at all.

I'm saying Manuel Johnson would be the 6th string QB, he might even be the 5th string.

As CK said above - he played QB is HS.

use broyles is a wishbone package with murray, brown, madu, and even justin johnson. clapp as the fullback. gresham catching a long td pass now and again. the king is still around, he could give Bob some old playbooks. :)

well if that happened we would be running some damn wildhog formation with murray qb and brown tb with broyles running across for the handoff..i mean i would think that wouldnt work but did anyone see ronnie brown and ricky williams run it against the pats??? domination

Calhoun, Box and Proctor all played HS QB.

Might be an opportunity to bring the 'Bone back.

We could just run the Ningee formation over and over again

I would go with Box.

I bet money it would be box and we would probably run alot of shotgun and alot of zone reads...

ducks 1st string QB tore his ACL before the season

2nd string guy partially tore MCL during opener

3rd string guy got a concussion in the 2nd quarter vs. boise

4th string guy was 0-3 with 2 picks and looked TERRIBLE

5th string guy (black kid from texas) got his redshirt yanked and threw for like 240 yards and 3 TD's and brought them from 37-13 to 37-32.

and i enjoyed every minute of watching them get beat. they got torched for like 500 yards...ha ha ha
