I think I had a sip of Choc...I think I may need to try a whole beer though.

I've read the story about it.

Great read.

I thought there was only one kind JM.

Have you tried them all?

If so...what do you think of them individually?

It's basically a suburb of McAlester. Choc is brewed by the folks who own Pete's Place. I have long been on record here as saying Pete's place is vastly overrated as an Italian restaurant. Choc also was pretty mediocre stuff, until recently. They have really been putting a lot of effort into it, including getting some interesting flavors going. All in all, not terrible.

I tried their "Basement Batch"...it's not very good. But I've had some of the others that are brewed in Krebs and they were good.
The Waving wheat is good

Its a couple of miles from my house...they are in the process of making the brewery a lot larger...I guess sales are good

I don't eat there much tho...I prefer Roseanna's(who just died)

My great grandpa used to make choc with Pete back in the day..I was never a fan

Choc Beer, while not my favorite style is a beer I have a soft spot for.

The Miners Mishap is an average, chocolatey, roasty schwarzbier.

The Basement Batch PA had some issues on its first run, but that's been fixed and it's a decent pale ale.

The Waving Wheat is a top notch example. Probably the best of the series.

They also have a biere de garde which comes in 22 oz bombers. It's light and fruity (like you) with some spice. Good with grilled chicken.

They also have a new Belgian amber that just came out that I haven't tried yet.

Life is good.

I have a mild buzz from this wheat bear, and a dip of Ettan Lös from Sweden in my mouf.

I bought this **** from Europe and had it shipped here, and it is still waaay cheaper than going to 7-11 and buying a can of Skoal.

8 cans for 20 dollars and change!

Isle of Capri is the best. Pete's is the worst of the lot. Every bit as overrated as Eischen's. Neg away...

I like Giacomo's and the fried chicken.

Pete's is a bit too touristy.

The new brew is called KuehnerWeisse and is just starting to roll off the bottling lines as we type. Joe just sent everyone in the family a "care package" with several large bottles of the first production batch and new t-shirts.

One of those bottles is in the fridge chilling right now. I'll let y'all know how it is once we crack it open.

And even though Pete's is family, I won't neg you guys for bagging on the food's quality - it hasn't been very good since Uncle Bill passed the reins over to Joe about 20 years ago. :(

Pete's = Chef Boyardee. Srsly. It's just an excuse for a road trip, and nobody wants to admit to driving five hours round trip for Chef Boyardee.

i don't care if i'm getting a blow job from Heidi Klum afterwards, but a salad that is ice berg lettuce is not worth paying for. nor is a Classico jar sauce over some rank and file spaghetti.

i can saute garlic and all that shizz. i don't need to drive to Lake Eufala for it.

While it's kinda cool that it's a semi known beer brewed here in OK, it's not that great to drink.

Yeah she died Wednesday...she still did the cooking...

I m an Isle fan, but my wife digs Roseanna's more...

Service at Giacomo's is meh....That's funny you say she still did the cooking, because a friend of a friend swears "the food wasn't as tasty after she kept coming up there all the time."

I had lunch there last summer and loved it. The gnocchi is amazing.

The last few times I had dinner at Pete's, I wasn't all that crazy about it. My mom always said that the place next door, Minnie's, had better food. That place has been closed as long as I can remember though.

I bought a 6-pack assortment of Chocs finally.

I liked the Choctoberfest.

Just opened a "Basement Batch". Initially I don't like the taste...but I'm going to finish it before I give it a death sentence.

Four more to go after that...I'll post my findings as I go.

BTW...since I don't drink much during the week. It might take awhile.
