Garrett was a GREAT pitcher who was overthrown all the time by the HS coach and that is why he never really flourished in college or the pro's. He could have been a dominating LHP if he wasn't abused at a youngster.

It is not that he was lazy? I hear the scouts said he was not committed to working out.

He was a very gifted LHP with some great movement on his fastball. He also had that DUNLAP'S disease in HS. I hear he loved dining at Pete's and Isle of Capri in Krebs. The McAlester kid had a great appitite.

I played against him several times in HS and we had mutual friends at KSU.

While he was certainly worked hard at MHS, I don't think that's why he failed to flourish.
