Obama

"I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors. I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face," he said.

"And if they tell you that, 'Well, we're not sure where he stands on guns.' I want you to say, 'He believes in the Second Amendment.' If they tell you, 'Well, he's going to raise your taxes,' you say, 'No, he's not, he's going lower them.' You are my ambassadors. You guys are the ones who can make the case."

I would love that. Usually a discussion with his supporters goes downhill in about 30 seconds.

In short, "Vote for Obama and all your dreams will come true."

It worked for Pedro.

Somehow I think I might be able to last longer than 30 seconds.

"I think he needs to keep doing exactly what he's doing, which is speak softly, show it through," said Paul Barnhart, a retired real estate appraiser. "I think most Americans are pretty fed up and sick and tired of the bickering and the battling back and forth. I am."

I thought this was pretty amusing. Tired of the bickering? Obama isn't. He WANTS you to argue with them!

I tell you what, if an Obama supporter "wants to argue with me and get in my face", I got an answer for every question they have.

A mighty ELBOW TO THE THROAT.

And I'm gonna press it down until little red dots show up on their neck.

Found this interesting 1999 article on Barry Obama and guns:

From the Chicago Defender, Dec. 13, 1999:

Sweeping federal gun control legislation proposed by Sen. Barack Obama (D-13th) would increase the penalties on gun runners who are flooding Chicago's streets with illegal weapons.

At an anti-gun rally held at the Park Manor Christian Church, 600 E. 73rd St., headed by the Rev. James Demus, Obama also said he's backing a resolution being introduced into the City Council by Alds. Toni Preckwinkle (4th), Ted Thomas (15th), Leslie Hairston (5th) to call for a "shot-free" millennium celebration.

Obama outlined his anti-gun plan that includes increased penalties for the interstate transportation of firearms. The maximum penalty now for bringing a gun across the border is 10 years in prison. Obama is proposing to make it a felony for a gun owner whose firearm was stolen from his residence which causes harm to another person if that weapon was not securely stored in that home.

He's proposing restricting gun purchases to one weapon a month and banning the sale of firearms at gun shows except for "antique" weapons. Obama is also proposing increasing the licensing fee to obtain a federal firearms license.

He's also seeking a ban on police agencies from reselling their used weapons even if those funds are used to buy more state-of-the-art weapons for their agencies. Obama wants only those over 21 who've passed a basic course to be able to buy or own a firearm.

He's proposing that all federally licensed gun dealers sell firearms in a storefront and not from their homes while banning their business from being within five miles of a school or a park. He's also banning the sale of 'junk" handguns like the popular Saturday Night Specials.

Obama is requiring that all people working at a gun dealer undergo a criminal background check. He's also asking that gun manufacturers be required to develop safety measures that permit only the original owner of the firearm to operate the weapon purchased.

Additionally, he wants an increase of the funds for schools to teach anger management skills for youth between the ages of 5-13. Obama is also seeking to increase the federal taxes by 500 percent on the sale of firearm, ammunition [sic] -- weapons he says are most commonly used in firearm deaths

SO my only question to Obama on those comments is if he is suddenly changing if he becomes prez because his voting record contradicts everything he just said in those quotes.

Shocking. I figured you would give him an even handed shake considering he is polling ahead generally, leads in electoral college polling, and out funds the McCain camp. Desperate indeed.

Listen, it's easy to paint a picture you want and indulge in confirmation bias, but the truth is that it's an election that is going to be close, and the winner probably isn't going above 53%, people want to win and both campaigns are trying new tactics to get some momentum. Obama is going to hit hard and low, and McCain is gambling on ads that aren't super true in hopes that the voters won't look too much into them.

McCain won 11 of the states surveyed with 149 electoral votes: Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.

Obama won two of the states surveyed with 86 electoral votes: California and New York.

You're boy is going to get beat worse that Gore and Kerry put together, meaning at least 5% nationally and lose some blue states.

Look, I don't take this stuff personally but I just can't believe the Obama crowd thinks A) he's qualified to be President, B) He's some second coming of Ronald Reagan or JFK C) He's actually going to win.

If he does, I'll be shocked and really worried about the direction we're taking by giving the party of socialism, The House, Senate and the Presidency. WOW< Watch you paycheck, becuase you're going to pay throught the nose.

I'm sure the DailyKos thinks Obama will win by 100 electoral votes, but that don't make it true. You are doing yourself no service relying on Newsmax, just thought I would let you know.

This as good a site I've seen at providing some good poll snapshots and analysis.

I know of the site, it's pretty good. However, the point is polling is off because of race. It's an underlying issue and cannot be detected with traditional polling. It's not right (racism) but its life. I'm not even saying every Dem who doesn't vote for Obama is a racist but that is one thing that polls wont detect.

Also, when given the choice of giving one party all three branches of gov. the voters usually don't.
