So, the wife's latest thing to make us all healthy (see the thread where she through out my peanut butter) is unpasteurized milk. There's a dairy in Claremore where she's going to buy it. Straight from the teet to the bottle, just like the good Lord intended it.

am i going to die?

Save the earth and eliminate the bottle....buy a Holstein cow for your backyard and a small stool.

Drinking raw (untreated) milk or eating raw milk products is "like playing Russian roulette with your health," says John Sheehan, director of the Food and Drug Administration's Division of Dairy and Egg Safety. "We see a number of cases of foodborne illness every year related to the consumption of raw milk."

You might not die, but you'll wish you did. ;)

I would finish off that bottle of unpasteurized milk with a carton of Lucky Strikes and homemade Fugu. What you are doing is a very, very bad idea.

Also, as for a healthy alternative, might I suggest skim, water or OJ.

Upasteurized cow's milk is for calves, not humans. If it was fit for human consumption, the whole pasteurization process never would have been invented. DOH.

That being said, I've drank gallons of unpasteurized milk when I was a kid and other than making me semi-retarded, it never did hurt me much.

The only kind of milk that doesn't suck is cheese.

300 people probably get killed by bobcats. I'm just passing on the information I found. Ultimately, you get to decide for yourself.

I used to drink raw milk all the time when I was little. So did most of my family. No one ever died from it. Raw milk likely won't kill you. However, if you were going to start drinking raw milk, I would make sure I know the dairyman, and get a look at how clean he keeps in parlor, and what kind of dairy they are running. (grass based, etc)

Really, for best results, you should just buy a goat and drink goat milk from the tap. You can get a good deal on one at the state fair this week....if all the pokes haven't snatched them up already.

Buttsecksed goats.

By the way, colostrum makes you grow teats of your own. I can't vouch the veracity of that statement, but logic states that if it comes out of a booby, it will make boobies.
