Do they not realize the people that the Earp brothers and Doc were trying to eliminate in Tombstone were the "cowboys." I'm just saying.

First post. Been reading for about a year. Quality stuff.

Did they really just butcher one of my all time favorite movies?

Good first post DallasSooner87, here's the proof of what you say.

Sometimes I just do not have anything else to say. I guess that intro just speaks for itself.

OSU fans apparently hate it too. I'm sure the players hear that song and think "WTF?" Do they not understand that videos are supposed to fire a crowd up?

A two decade old Heisman is the best thing they can talk about, that's just pathetic.

"I'm your huckleberry." I bet they have t-shirts.

oh, it wasn't horrible....but...it was aggie.

If they really wanted to get their fans going, they should have had Mikey say "I'm a man, and I like it loud"...

the best part was the 'all about tradition' part...hahahahahahahaha. if by 'tradition' you mean 'being a watered-down, step child, worthless, no winning, orange jumpsuit wearing, mouth breathing, sister loving, back woods excuse for an NCAA football program' then I agree.

I wonder how much they had to pay Disney for the rights to use the clips from 'Tombstone.' Or maybe they just pulled a McCain and ripped it off without paying for it.

I made it halfway through. It was horrible, and not just because it was associated with OSU, but it was just bad.

I thought it was cute that they incorporated Boone Pickens and Mike Gundy into it... but this is what I got out of the video.

1- Ok, so we had limited success earlier (1988 Heisman Barry Sanders)

2- But we are now awesome (All the shots of Zac, which was like half the video)

3- And we love our fans who attend games (Team jumping in stands, the song)

4- And we work really hard (All the practice shots)

5- So pleasepleaseplease buy overpriced tickets and fill all those thousands of empty seats. Please?

This is a perfect example of the experience that is teh East/West cow pasture...srsly.

Their made-up traditions and such are so oppressive they completely take over the fact that there is a game to be played. Two years ago I was amazed and amused, then sickened by, all the theatrics, chants, hand gestures, dozens of "mascots", etc. And their stadium announcer is a shrieking cheerleading homer.

Here's what I mean by perfect example:

2008 orange intro video: 3:12
2008 OU intro video: 1:25

OU's builds.
orange's blahs.

Three minutes and twelve seconds of orange scene-flashing would give Japanese kids seizures!

Certainly they can package all their history and tradition into the one realistic and true highlight: 1988 Barry Sanders. Would take 3 minutes off the vid and make it halfway decent.

Notable absences from years past:

1- Garth Brooks. Where's your alumni god now?!

2- Mooing noise. So, are you just boys now, without the cow?

3- Color in the flagboys uniforms. You can't hide it - they're still as orange as the O-S-U flags they carry and therefore, hideous.

Notable additions:

1- Boone Pickens. I will cry the day they have a Gaylord on our Sooner Vision for the football intro, just because that's the name that they attached to our beloved Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

2- Mike Gundy (w/spikey hair). This video would have been passable if he parodied his tirade. Example: "OSU fans quiet?! That's not true! We don't like noise?! That ain't true!"

3- Practice. This would have been far more suitable had they paired practice drills with actual game play. OU's strength & conditioning does this on their walls, where they have, for example, Jason White running passing drills in practice on one side of the hallway, then going through the same motion on gameday in a photo on the other side. Practice drills, by themselves, are better for offseason teasers.

4- Fans interacting with players. You would think they're trying to sell a few thousand empty seats or something :D:D:D

Think T. Boone lost any of OSU's money on the stock market downfall yesterday?

And that would be the perfect time to break out the 'I thought you liked it LOUD' posterboard for the TV cameras.
