View Full Version : Just how bad is the rest of the PAC 10 ?

UW, WSU, Stanford, Arizona, UCLA are all bad and were expected to be bad. Oregon State was supposed to be good, but have looked weak so far. Cal got whupped by Maryland and the Ducks eke out a win against a mediocre Purdue mostly from Purdue giving it away. That only leaves ASU as maybe good, but I'm not a Rudy Carpenter believer.

My point is that unless something very surprising happens, there is only 1 spot up for grabs in the title game this year. You can pencil in USC in for the other spot already (grrr..). My guess is the winner of the OU/MU game could get the other spot if they both stay healthy and play up to their potential. But there are plenty of spoiler opportunities in the Big12 with the horns getting a shot at both OU and MU.

Along with the Pac-10 outside of USC & Oregon (AZ State is in a dogfight with UNLV -- ESPN scoreboard shows 13-10 AZ State at the half), how bad is Michigan & Notre Dame. SDS lost to San Jose St. 35-10 today as well as Cal Poly a couple of weeks ago, and took ND to the edge in SB, and ND just drubbed Michigan. I wouldn't be surprised if Washington kicks ND's azz in Seattle if they can hold on to the ball in the 1st half, and get a center who can snap the ball to Locker (if Locker is not injured and is able to play in a month). Washington needs to win 2 out of their next 3, and play good ball against in Tucson before they play ND.

Even if thirty players are rules ineligible and Stoops stays home sick in the BIG 12 CCG, Missouri won't get in with three losses. :D

I remember how very recently people were saying "Is the Big 12 as good as the Pac-10?"

WTF? When have we even been comparable in the last year. They have the #1 team....and that is it. Except Oregon....kind of.

ACC has Wake Forest and UNC. Ha.

and on that note....the Big 12 and SEC pretty much have dominace over CFB now, IMO.

To quote Andre Ware covering the Cal Maryland game, "The Pac 10 is the best conference in the nation just ahead of the SEC."

What?

Arizona State just lost to UNLV in OT. Well at least 'Devil fans won't be able to bag on Arizona fans for losing to NM. Black football Saturday for the state of Arizona. I saw where it was 13-10 ASU at the half, but just figured they would pull it out in the 2nd half. Thx for the update.

How does Washington stack up against ASU? Here in the ATL we're hearing all about how UGA is going out to the desert to be tested big time. Does beating ASU give UGA any more credit than OU destroying Washington?

I think the suckitude of the acc is far greater than the pac 10.

The "best" team in the conference is handed 7 turnovers and they amass a TOTAL of 12 points?

SUCK!

Yeah. It's obvious that the Big XII and SEC are LEAGUES better than the other.. leagues ;)

SEC>Big12>MWC>Big 10>CUSA>Big East>Pac10>ACC

The ACC may be worst of all, but they are not going to put a team in the BCS title game. My point was that the *rest* of the PAC 10 teams seem to be having a down year when USC appears to be in a peak year (still early). It would appear to be a cake walk for 'SC to mow down these wannabes along with the domers and jump on a charter to Miami. If that's the case it makes one wonder about the balance of good and evil in the universe.
