Three hundred and forty three lives were lost running UP the twin towers to save those running down.

To those 343 souls, I salute you.

ABSOLUTELY!!!

I have several friends that have been Red, Blue or Green shifters for 20 plus years. I have two neighbors directly across the street that are firemen. A person with great character is required to be one of them. They will do anything to help someone in need.

Maybe this should be in the secret confessions thread, but I don't think everyone who died in the 9/11 attacks is a hero. Most of those people just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Tragic, but not heroic. The real heroes of that day were the firefighters, police officers, and others who were running towards what everyone else was running away from, and the passengers of United 93 who tried to fight back.

I do not disagree. The people who otherwise died were innocent victims. Certainly deserving of sorrowful rememberance, but calling them heroes cheapens the sacrifice of the people who truly acted heroically.

I still think 93 was shot down.
Mebbe there was an attempt at a passenger takeover, but my $$'s on a Stinger Missile taking out a plane to save a building full of more people.

Does this tin foil hat make my asslook fat?

Yeah, the FDNY was, and is, full of heroes.
