Griffin's characters, at least in his first Army series' were frankly, just too dayum perfect.
No sense of the mud and shilt and rotting flesh of war, just uber-soldiers playing a glamorous political career-build game. Interesting at first, then rather meh.

I've read most of his books. I enjoy them. I like the bits about the oss and the philly pd.

He seems to run the same characters in every series, but I enjoy them.
