They're just turning it on though, not really actually doing anything with it. I don't think they do the particle collisions until October. It's basically going to be a bunch of scientists flipping an on switch, seeing it works, giving some woos and high fives, and then shutting it off and drinking some beers.

Hopefully, nobody leaves a beer can in one of the magnets this time.

...reminds me of 3rd grade when studying the atom. Our teacher asks a 4th grade boy, (we were in the same room), what the smallest thing known to man was. He ponders it a while and solemnly states... a pissant. :)
