View Full Version : Is this the most talented offense in Bob's tenure?

I'm having a hard time arguing otherwise.

The argument might be that we don't have a true No. 1 receiver. I'd say that we do, only he lines up at tight end.

Either way, there are about 100 other D-1 teams that would kill to have iglesias, broyles and manny line up 1-2-3 every saturday.

Until they score more than the 2004 team did. Then they are talented, but not the best.

Damn sure fun to watch though.

With all respect, I think it's about six weeks too early to even bring up that question.

Double check me on this, but I think we had Mark Bradley, Bandon Jones, and Mark Clayton all on the same field at the same time, with Jason White throwing to them. That team gets my vote for now; three starting NFL WRs and a Heisman QB.

Clearly the most talented offense was in 2002 - we had 3 players majoring in modern dance, 4 art students, 5 thespians, and an ambidextrious midget who could write his name with his feet.

And don't forget the trained chimp who rode in the wagon throwing out frisbees.

Where's the spek when you need it? ;)

um, yeah, that was true in 2004 as well. don't forget AD

all we were missing was a TE that could catch a pass...

imagine putting Gresham on that team

how would 2000 have gone without Trent Smith?

anyway, as far as talent goes, it would be pretty hard to beat the 2004 offense (except for the 2004 USC offense :()

of course, Brandon Jones just kinda disappeared in 2004 too, didn't he

T-Money had a really good year though

this year's team has all the potential. massive O-Line, excellent and deep wr core, excellent and deep rb core, excellent tight end, and a better signal caller to boot! (by that i mean the OC). then again 03 and 04 went undefeated heading into dec/jan. tough acts to follow.

OU played one high school team and a one decent defense and we're talking comparisons to other 0's that did it every week..no chance yet

Yeah - I like what I see so far, but I haven't seen enough to say anything like that yet.

I don't know about talented, but maybe the most difficult to game plan against.

2004 was better. Comparable o-lines, more experienced quarterback, better running back, and 3 starting NFL receivers. Pound for pound, the only clearly better players this year compared to them are Jermaine and maybe an OL or two.

Wilson, Bradley, and Jones aren't starting for anyone in the NFL.

The bar is set at 65 against Tejas.

I'll give this one the "Best Ever" award when they hit 66.

Clayton, Bradley, and Jones is what I meant, and I think they all start/have started at some point in the NFL. Forgive me, but I don't think Iggy, Manny and Broyles are quite at that level (yet).

And you'd lose a lot of games too. But to each his own.

You know...

I'd hate to set the bar on just one games performance....

But...

66 would definitely get me to thinking this years Offense was the most talented.

I hate :texan: and 100 would make it a lock. :D
