Why can't any abusers of spek/neg be admonished, lord knows we have had abuses in the past, but to eliminate spek, in particular eliminates a certain amount of camaraderie and bonding unique to this board. It also seems to be very unpopular which should account for something...

Actually, we had been trying to keep a handle on that. But sombody has to report abuse in reputation comments to us; I guarantee you, none of us has the time or inclination to waste going through everyone's spek comments.
Actually, our nifty infraction system has a red card for "hidden abuse" such as in spek comments or PMs - it's a 3-point violation that takes 60 days to expire. I think 8 points is the lowest level of an automatic ban off red cards. Or something.

Well, I'm sure the ones who get abused the most are noobs. And noobs generally don't know who to talk to, because most of the mods avoid the football board like teh plague anymore.

That is part of what SoonerFans is, being a good friend and a good poster. We need ratings back. I'm one of many. Seems like TEH SPEK could actually be used as a mod tool. (By the mod tools. It had to be said.)
A yellow card could actually be to turn off a poster's spek for 10 days.
If it can't be done they get a choice, turn off their own spekker or get baned for the same time. Seems that it could be effective given the moderate level of outrage about spek gone missing.
