Yeah, so assplain to me why MNF has a different setup (graphics, scores etc) at the bottom than the regular ESPN games. I like this much better! You dont have the cloud of scores at the bottom and the graphics along the top, like college does. It keeps it all on the bottom. Aaaaaand, their picture sure is pretty on my Samsung.

How is Tarvaris Jackson a starter in the NFL? There are probably 6 quarterbacks in the Big 12 that could replace him as a starter today. He has the easiest job in the NFL and he messes it up.

Well, the NFL rule requires you to possess the pass for five minutes after the play has ended for it to be called a catch. It was incomplete per the NFL rule....that is the way they have called it for many years, anytime you lose the ball on a catch-tackle like that, they determine that it was incomplete. You have to maintain possession of the ball all the way through the play , even out of bounds.

Blitzkrieg
9/8/2008, 08:17 PM
First time I can say when it wasnt my team that the refs jobbed an NFL team. Block in the back on the punt return for td. Al Harris was draped on the wide reciever in the first half, and the instant replay was a catch.

Where's the screen to AD?

I'm not sure Peterson is ever going to be a great screen receiver. He is just not fluid enough on the catch. Plus, he seems to have a shadow on him all the time. It never worked that well at OU either.

His first NFL touchdown was an 80 yard screen...against.... the Falcons.

jkjsooner

Yes, but he did bobble the ball. I'm not saying that to take away from an awesome run by him. It was a great run. It's just that he's not fluid with the ball so it gives the defense a second to attack him.

Plus, quite frankly if you don't have a downfield passing threat and if Peterson always has a spy on him it just doesn't work.

This game has been uncomfortable to watch. Penalties have dictated every drive for both teams.

How does the Vikings' owner spend zillions on a team and have absolutely NO quarterback. Why would you bother? The Vikings have talent everywhere but will go nowhere with this situation.

A 24/7 sports network must create stories to fill their programming...anything Favre-related rolls into their mandated Favre coverage. Grant isn't something they'll talk about on PTI, etc. They'll continue to beat the horse with AR until then next obsession story comes along.

Wow, i don't even know where to begin to summarize this game.

1. The refs called over 20 penalties, yet somehow missed the most blatant infraction in the whole game(Harris intereference in the first half).

2. Tavaris Jackson has got to be the worst QB in the history of the NFL
3. Brad Childress has to be the worst head coach in the history of the NFL; 3rd and 1 in your own territory and you spread the field, take AD out of the game, put TJ in shotgun, and let him throw the ****ing ball? Epic fail, then the Packers return the ensuing punt for a TD.
4. Tony Kornheiser must be blowing Brett Favre.
5. AD only touched the ball maybe 4 times in the whole 4th quarter.
6. How the **** is AD supposed to get better at pass blocking and receiving if Chester ****ing Taylor is in the game?

I feel sorry for Minnesota fans

How does ANYONE like pro football more than college?

This game is a prime example of why I like college more.
I think a lot of it depends on where you grow up, if you grow up in a pro-centric environment, then the pro game is what you know and grew up with. If you grew up in the northeast and Rutgers is the best team in your area, you probably learned on the Giants or Jets, not the Scarlet Knights.

Growing up outside the northeast or midwest, the college game is what most families were brought up on because until the mid-50's major level pro sports didn't really exist west of St. Louis. This is why the college game became the dominant form of the game and a source of state pride. Back east it is much more about cities and not states.

I like both......
