The same age as Sam is one of his teammates, Austin Box, from Enid. He was sensational playing quarterback and outside linebacker for the Plainsmen.

How did I forget Paul Smith of Owasso HS? Graduated from Tulsa where he played.

Despite its football prowess, Oklahoma is a pretty small state population-wise at around 3.6 million. CA has over 36 million, TX has almost 24 million, and FL has over 18 million.

Would you agree that it is not so much just total population that hampers Oklahoma, but the lack of big cities?

Big cities mean big school systems, where they can buy top of the line conditioning eqipment, study the latest coaching techniques, and have big, professional coaching staffs.

There will always be a place for the Jason White´s of the world, but especially QBs need to develop.

I would agree that it is not so much just total population that hampers Oklahoma, but the lack of big cities ... I was just too lazy (or busy at work) to research city populations.
