Im a Junior.

I signed my contract with my parents about a week ago. This summer I go to Lackland Air Force base in Texas to do Basic then after my Senior year I go active. Hopefully I will get stationed in Oklahoma. Sounds like a fun job serving my country, so I took the opportunity.

It'll be a good experience. At times it will succ with the succitude of a thousand Hoovers, but it will make you a man, and you'll get out of it as much as you invest of yourself.

Yah...and don't ever pull me over on base for doing 26 in a 25!

Other than that, you'll be fine!

Thanks for volunteering.

I don't think there are enough people who realize the sacrifice a young person makes when they volunteer to join the service.

The pay isn't great. You're leaving your family, your friends, your home. There are always risks involved, even in peacetime.

It's a calling, whether it's just for a few years, or for a lifetime.

So I take my hat off to you, and thank you again.

My hat's off to ya', brother. One of my biggest regrets in life is never serving in the military. Enjoy and learn a lot.

It'll be okay.

Soon you'll have new friends, people you will consider as family, and home will be where you hang your hat.
