He'll be back in time for the state fair.

A few notes:

1. He was not simply pulled over; he was involved in a wreck.

2. at 3:15 am

Do I have this correct? He was driving around drunk at 3:15 am on the day of their opening game?

You misspelled "whorn" . . .

This might need to be a new forum. If we start a new thread every time a whorn goes to jail, the football board will be all cluttered up.

I think pointing fingers at Horns or any other team's student-athletes for getting in trouble is pontless(pun intended), because it happens to everyone.Do the names Broyles,Granger ring any bells?

Yes they do, and for that reason I have yet to heap fun upon the whorns for this.

If he was indeed involved in an accident, this could raise the seriousness of the crime to a much higher level. But I am not sure what happened and I don't know what Texas law says about it.

Don't believe he caused an accident either.

I think you have to step up the seriousness of someone who wasn't able to avoid a collision.

If your gonna risk driving after a few drinks...you should be pretty darn careful when your out there operating a motor vehicle IMO.

I don't endorse drinking and driving...but I do know it continues to happen everyday in America.

If a guy who plays College Level Sports and is in a position to be an example to other kids who someday dream of playing, gets caught...I've always believed it should be up to the School to decide what to do.

In this case...your player did it right before the Season gets going.

Bad timing and bad form IMO.

You bringing up Loadholts situation just shows what a whorn you really are Lid.

I expect more from some bow tie wearin', look at the fine print, defender. :D :pop:

You've been perching on Loadholt way to long IMO.

1. ROFLMAO - All of this on the heels of Mack's pre-season interview with ESPN or ABC crew where Mr. February is bragging on this bunch kids as doing the right thing.

2. We sure have had (and have) our issues, but when the holier than thou crew down South has the issue makes you think of glass houses, doesn't it?

They said on the news that it was a minor fender-bender at 11th & I-35. At least he didn't try and run and compound the problems or complain about his weed being stolen......

Statesman.com - Houston will miss UTEP game (http://www.statesman.com/blogs/content/shared-gen/blogs/austin/longhorns/entries/2008/08/31/houston_will_mi.html)

Lamarr Houston will miss this Saturday’s road game against Texas El Paso as a result of his arrest early Sunday for driving while intoxicated.

Houston. the starting defensive tackle, apologized to his teammates Sunday night.

He was arrested and booked into Travis County Jail hours after the Longhorns won their season opener, 52-10 over Florida Atlantic.

Houston was involved in a minor, two-car wreck at approximately 3 a.m. Sunday. Police said he flunked a field sobriety test and was arrested.

Houston totaled three tackles, including two for losses, against Florida Atlantic.

Aaron Lewis will start in Houston’s place.

Yeah, and too, we all know that watching a beer commercial on TV is enough to flunk a field sobriety test these days. ;)
