I don't remember ever having anything but White Boomer and Sooner. Anyone know why they changed?

feel free to add you race comments as I know you will :)

Actually, the first time they took the field I was questioning why we had gray ponies. I am hoping someone on here knows why we changed pony colors. Not that I have a problem with ponies of color, but to my knowledge they have traditionally been white.

They are new ponies this year. If you noticed also that they had to put a rope on them as they were having struggles all night. They also stopped running after touchdowns as they were not used to running that much.

I think they will eventually turn white, but im not sure. I remember reading somewhere that they will.

I could SWEAR I read a story on soonersports that said when they are young, those ponies are gray. As they age, they turn into the blonde/white color.

Edit: Yup.

All white horses are actually born black and get whiter as they get older; Boomer and Sooner V are currently about 85% white but should be all white by next year.

Well, not ALL. Some horses are albino and are white form the beginning, but those are unbelievably rare.

Them new ponies are from Sapulpa and when the last two pulled the the wagon for the last time, these new models were actually still black. As they get older they will become more cream and less tOSU. They did a good jorb last night. Very efficient. Seems to be a new freshman trend.

I had read that about turning white...They were very gray Saturday...

How were the "new and improved" Ruf-Neks? Any difference since they got the University death penalty?
