MANHATTAN, Kan. -- Kansas State linebacker John Houlik was suspended for three games as a result of his Aug. 1 arrest for driving under the influence.

Houlik, a junior, is not allowed to practice with the Wildcats until he serves the suspension, the school announced Friday.

He was arrested Aug. 1 by county police in Manhattan's bar district after they observed him driving a vehicle up a curb and over a sidewalk by a parking lot. He was released after posting $750 bond.

Houlik had 68 tackles last season, third-best on the Wildcats, and was expected to lead the linebacking corps this season.
