That doesn't seem to count the costs associated with jacking up the capital gains taxes, the "we hate oil companies" taxes, the global warming taxes, the socialized medical care taxes, and on and on and on.

Its not out of the question that the middle class could easily be paying twice as many taxes as they do now when the liberals take over.

They all have "cult like followings". Anyone who votes straight party lines can be I suppose called cult like followers. Single issue voters who only vote pro-choice or pro NRA or whatever all should be forced to take SicEm's voting test before being handed a ballot.

DENVER -- Sen. Barack Obama's campaign organized its supporters Wednesday night to confront Tribune-owned WGN-AM in Chicago for having a critic of the Illinois Democrat on its air.
"WGN radio is giving right-wing hatchet man Stanley Kurtz a forum to air his baseless, fear-mongering terrorist smears," Obama's campaign wrote in an e-mail to supporters (http://www.chicagotribune.com/chi-obama-wgn,0,3744149.htmlstory). "He's currently scheduled to spend a solid two-hour block from 9:00 to 11:00 p.m. pushing lies, distortions, and manipulations about Barack and University of Illinois professor William Ayers."
Kurtz, a conservative writer, recently wrote an article for the National Review that looked at Obama's ties to Ayers, a former 1960s radical who later emerged as a school reform advocate in Chicago.
The magazine had been blocked in its initial attempts to obtain records from the University of Illinois at Chicago regarding a school reform initiative called the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, which Obama chaired and Ayers co-founded.I guess the progressive crowd do not believe in the 1st Amendment or the 2nd Amendment!

Well, assuming that by "confront" he mean "protest", then this is actually an exercise of First Amendment rights as the Founders intended it. One person expresses his views, others disagree with it.

Now, if by "confront" he means "mob violence," then, yeah, that's pretty bad.

Obama's e-mail about WGN-AM

Text of the e-mail the Obama campaign sent to supporters: August 28, 2008 In the next few hours, we have a crucial opportunity to fight one of the most cynical and offensive smears ever launched against Barack.

Tonight, WGN radio is giving right-wing hatchet man Stanley Kurtz a forum to air his baseless, fear-mongering terrorist smears. He's currently scheduled to spend a solid two-hour block from 9:00 to 11:00 p.m. pushing lies, distortions, and manipulations about Barack and University of Illinois professor William Ayers.

Tell WGN that by providing Kurtz with airtime, they are legitimizing baseless attacks from a smear-merchant and lowering the standards of political discourse.

Call into the "Extension 720" show with Milt Rosenberg at (312) 591-7200

(Show airs from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. tonight)

Then report back on your call at http://my.barackobama.com/WGNstandards

Kurtz has been using his absurd TV appearances in an awkward and dishonest attempt to play the terrorism card. His current ploy is to embellish the relationship between Barack and Ayers.

Just last night on Fox News, Kurtz drastically exaggerated Barack's connection with Ayers by claiming Ayers had recruited Barack to the board of the Annenberg Challenge. That is completely false and has been disproved in numerous press accounts.

It is absolutely unacceptable that WGN would give a slimy character assassin like Kurtz time for his divisive, destructive ranting on our public airwaves. At the very least, they should offer sane, honest rebuttal to every one of Kurtz's lies.

Kurtz is scheduled to appear from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. in the Chicago market.

Calling will only take a minute, and it will make a huge difference if we nip this smear in the bud. Confront Kurtz tonight before this goes any further:

Please forward this email to everyone you know who can make a call tonight.

Keep fighting the good fight,

and another tidbit of information

As it turns out, the idea of CNN's objectivity is difficult to square with the partisan leanings of many of the network's own anchors and correspondents. Many of the men and women covering the Democratic National Convention for CNN, including quite a few of their top tier reporters, are registered Democrats according to voter data.
Story Continues Below Ad ↓

Below is a list of Democratic CNN anchors and correspondents who are covering the Democratic National Convention (there are no registered Republicans):

* Anderson Cooper is a registered Democrat.
* Jeanie Moos is a registered Democrat.
* Gloria Borger is a registered Democrat.
* Jeanne Meserve is a registered Democrat.
* Suzanne Malveaux is a registered Democrat.
* Soledad O'Brien is a registered Democrat.

So when Anderson Cooper turns to Gloria Borger (who is sitting next to former Democratic operative Donna Brazile) for perspective on how things are going at the Democratic Convention, bear in mind that viewers are watching two people who are likely to vote for the Democratic candidate for president.

For the record, MSNBC's Chris Matthews, Andrea Mitchell, Mika Brzezinski and Monica Novotny are all registered Democrats as well.

I saw a recent survey that showed more than 8 in 10 journalists are Democrats. I'm not saying they can't be objective but still...

Best part of the convention was after Hillary gave her speech and CNN interviewed the black delegate from LA I think. She started crying and saying how Hillary gave a presidential speech and the Obama had two months to win her over and how great that Hillary was all the time crying on national TV like an unstable person in need of a Thorazine pill the size of California.

Great stuff.

I still can't believe the Democrats followed a political fad right over the ledge. Obama will probably do worse in the general election than Kerry and Gore. I honestly believe it'll be in the Dukakis and Mondale ballpark.

yet another tidbit from our unbiased media:

The ultimate objective in journalism is to deliver fresh information to the audience, to break heretofore unshattered stories.

Last night, ABC's Terry Moran did exactly that.

To get there, you must first wade through an extraordinary amount of Moran-Goo, as he slathers it liberally all over his reporting of the official nomination vote. But this is hardly groundbreaking. What comes next is.

The excited media throngs have already long hailed Illinois Senator Barack Obama for being the first bi-racial candidate ever to secure a major Party's nomination for President.

Moran yesterday added to the historic aura surrounding the Senator's parents.

To quote Mr. Moran, Sen. Obama is "the son of a black man from Kenya, and a white man from Kansas."

To again quote Mr. Moran, this "is a moment for the history books." This certainly is.

If Barack doesn't win this election the Dems should just close up shop. McCain is such an awful pick, it's like the GOP is trying to go all Black Sox.

Of course, I thought that after Kerry failed to beat Bush, the worst GOP candidate in the last 25 years (well, before McCain came along).
