Sooner Fans: Wear Crimson Friday

College Colors Day celebrates college traditions and spirit across nation.

NORMAN, Okla. -- College Colors Day, which coincides with the kick off of college football and back to campus for students, is an annual celebration dedicated to promote the traditions and spirit that make the college experience great by encouraging college students, fans, and alumni to wear apparel of their favorite college or university throughout the day of Friday, August 29th.

The Collegiate Licensing Company, a division of IMG Worldwide, organizes College Colors Day.

Oklahoma fans are encouraged to wear the OU colors in celebration of the day, which occurs just ahead of the Aug. 30 football opener against Chattanooga.

College Colors Day is so easy to participate in, it can be broken down into one easy step.

"I know our fans are anxious for the start of another school year and football season," said Suzanne Staley, OU's Director of Licensing. "We want OU to be well represented this Friday when college fans all across the nation show their true colors."

Leading up to College Colors Day, several marketing initiatives will take place helping to promote the big day.

Yeah, they've been doing it for a few years now.

I'll be wearing a TU shirt half the day Friday, then changing into an OU one for the rest of the day. It's only fair.
