Ok, so I finally got DirecTV, but how do I figure out what channel the Choo Choo game is going to be on. I know it's FSN PPV but that's about it. I want to TiVO it so I need to order it ahead of time. Anyone have a clue? The DirecTV web site is no help......

DirecTV does not have it in their PPV channel listings yet on their end (Just got off the phone with them)....BUT I do know that the Fox Sports SW PPV channel is 676. So be watching for that to pop up later in the week. I think it'll be about $29.95.

If anyone knows if their gonna be showing it at a bar or somewhere close to Bartlesville, please let me know.

I thought the regular FSSW HD channel was 676? Oh well, I guess it will pop up somewhere, hopefully by Thursday or so......

What channels do they put the ESPN gameplan games on? Are they grouped together (hopefully) or scattered around?

Directv PPV channels usually start popping up in the middle of the week. I have not seen it yet. Although they are already listing Baylor and Wake Forest.

What fw said, don't panic as I am sure the channel info will be out there way before the game starts. I normally wouldn't pay for a game like this, but I plan on this to be a historical year for them so I am gonna have a video archive to treasure.

They broadcast it last year really early in the am. Like 1am or something crazy like that.

Unless you're strapped for cash, buy the PPV or you'll at least need a DVR.

Got the season tix so I won't miss the game. Have the DVR, too. Just don't wanna pay the cash to record it if they are just going to show it for free later....

My dish guide shows channel 461 for the OU game. Funny thing is they show a start time of 4:00pm.
Nebraska and Texas games are also listed right around it at 460 and 462.

Football Game Pay-Per-View Info
View pay-per-view options by location for Saturday's OU-Chattanooga game.

NORMAN, Okla. -- Several cable television systems in Oklahoma and Texas and nationwide satellite TV services DirecTV and Dish Network will offer Oklahoma's season-opening football game against Chattanooga on Saturday, Aug. 30 at 6:00 PM CT on pay-per-view. Suggested retail price is $29.95.

A one-hour pregame show beginning at 5:00 PM CT will commemorate coach Bob Stoops' 10th season at Oklahoma and will feature interviews with former Sooner players and celebrities in attendance about the impact Stoops has had on the OU program in the last decade.

The game is being televised on pay-per-view because it wasn't selected for over-the-air broadcast or cable television coverage. Under conference TV rules, games not picked up for regular television distribution can only be televised live on pay-per-view, giving fans the option to watch a game they otherwise wouldn't be able to see.

Tim Brando (play-by-play), former Oklahoma running back Spencer Tillman (analyst), former OU quarterback Paul Thompson (sideline reporter) and FSN Southwest's Emily Jones (sideline reporter) call the action. Former Oklahoma quarterback Dean Blevins will host the pay-per-view telecast from Memorial Stadium in Norman, Okla. and anchor the pregame show.

FSN Southwest will replay the game in a one-hour format on Tuesday, Sept. 2 at 11:00 AM CT as part of its new "Big 12 No Huddle" series, which will feature condensed telecasts of Big 12 games throughout the season.

Listed below are programming providers that will offer the live telecast on a designated pay-per-view channel (more could be added prior to kickoff). Cable TV subscribers must have digital cable to order the telecast. Customers can order the game from their set-top boxes or by calling their local programming provider:

generally speaking the scheduling menu only shows things up to 36 hours in advance. So you might be able to put your order in on the tv itself on Friday.

From the DIRECTV pay Per View Basics screen:

"As long as your receiver has been connected to a land-based phone line, you can use your remote to order. You can also order events on the internet at directv.com or over the phone at 1-800-531-5000. There is an ordering fee for purchases placed over the phone."

I just spoke with directv because the ESPN Gameplan channels as well as the OU PPV channel wasn't showing up on my tv. They said it should show up 24-48 hours before Saturday. Also, you will be able to order the OU game online to avoid the DirecTV charge to order it over the phone.

All set for tomorrow - i hope!

Its always a crap shoot to find where I can watch/listen to OU games. I live in VA and have done the streaming video (Internet) thing (it sucked and cost too much) as well as the Internet radio feed. I like listening to it on the Internet but would rather watch. This is the time of year that the entire family gets involved in finding the games on Direct TV and the Internet. I have thought about moving back to Ok just so I can watch the games....

That's what I'm going to have to do if I can't figure it out in the morning. After MLB, my channels start with channel 786, not 785, so i'm not sure where the OU game is. Ugh, why do they make it soooo difficult?

DirecTV told me that it is only available through a live representative and they cannot waive the $5 order fee. I told them that it was unethical for them to make me call them to order and then charge me for it.

They offered me three free months of a movie channel or $5 discount per month for the next three months? I guess that it is better to give me $15 dollars in discounts instead of waive the $5 fee.

Told them:
1. Look for the TBLOX 594 "L* *-*-* 9". I told them you know the porn ppv station that you have.
2. Look right below it, you'll see UTPPV 595 "Florida Atlantic at Texas".
3. Look right below that, and you'll see OUPPV 596 "OU vs Chattanooga".

You normally wouldn't get an OU specific pre-game if it was on any of the other channels like FSN, ESPN/ABC, VS. My guide said that it started at 6pm, so did the phone rep. It is on my screen at the moment, with Paul Thompson as the sideline guy. Sirius did have the radio pre-game show, the game is on 126.
