SOONERS HOCKEY ADDS GAMES TO SCHEDULE

The University of OklahomaŽ Hockey club announces that it has added three games to its 2008-2009 schedule and changed the location of a fourth game on the schedule.

The Sooners will play an exhibition game against the Wichita Falls (TX) Wildcats of the North American Hockey League on Saturday, September 13th at 7:00 P.M. The game will be played in Wichita Falls at the Kay Yeager Coliseum. Tickets for the exhibition game between the Sooners and Wildcats are on sale now. Tickets for adults are $9.00 each while tickets for children, seniors, & military personnel tickets are $7.00 each. To order tickets or for more information, please visit the Wildcats' website at www.wfwildcatshockey.com (http://www.wfwildcatshockey.com/).

It will be an ACHA/NHL double header on February 28, 2009 as Oklahoma's game against the Arizona State Sun Devils has been moved from the Alltel Ice Den in Scottsdale, AZ. The game will now be played at the Jobing.com Arena in Glendale, AZ, home of the NHL's Phoenix Coyotes. The Sooners and Sun Devils will play in the first game of the twin bill, followed by a NHL matchup between the Coyotes and the St. Louis Blues. The precise game time for the OU/ASU game has not yet been determined but the Coyotes/Blues are set to face-off at 7:00 P.M., which means the Sooners and Sun Devils will likely start play around 4:00 P.M. To order tickets, please visit the Coyotes' website at http://coyotes.nhl.com (http://coyotes.nhl.com/).

The next day, Sunday, February 29, 2008, the Sooners be in Flagstaff, Arizona to take on the Lumberjacks of Northern Arizona University. The Ice Jacks are ACHA D3 powers and play their games at the intimate Jay Lively Activity Center in Flagstaff. The Sooners have a Flagstaff connection as the "City of Seven Wonders" is the hometown of OU senior forward Kyle Allan and junior defenseman Trevor Hallberg. Game time between the Sooners and Ice Jacks has yet to be determined but face-off will likely be in the late morning/early afternoon time frame. Sooners Hockey fans will be able to follow all of the action in Flagstaff via the internet by pointing their browser to www.KJACK.org (http://www.kjack.org/) at game time.

Finally, the Sooners will participate in another ACHA/NHL double header as a game against the Red Raiders of Texas Tech University is set for March 8, 2009. For the fifth time this season, OU and Tech will face one another on the ice. This last game of the season series between the two teams will be played at the American Airlines Center in Dallas approximately thirty minutes after the conclusion of the NHL game between the Dallas Stars and Montreal Canadiens. The Stars/Canadiens will face-off at 5:00 P.M. which means that the Sooners and Red Raiders will likely hit the ice around 8:00 P.M. The game at the AAC will be a homecoming of sorts for many Sooners who hail from the Metroplex, including senior forward Doug Gebbie, junior defenseman Austin Miller, sophomore defenseman Shawn Hayden and sophomore forwards Daryl Dee and Jarrod Yost. To order tickets, please visit the Stars' website at http://stars.nhl.com (http://stars.nhl.com/).

Most junior hockey players I know call UN-O the University of No Opportunities. Still, if it were to take place, the WCHA would be a more likely conference than the CCHA.

I'll be at the game in March at the AAC. Maybe the powers that be will even let me do a little color commentary on the broadcast. *hint hint*

I'm sure the power that is owes you and would appreciate you doing some color.

:les: COME OONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!

I'm never going to get away from that, am I? Even though I don't call games regularly anymore, I usually will do color for a period or two a few times a year wherever I happen to be (Frisco, Wichita Falls, etc.). I can't put on a headset without the announcer attempting to bait me into the homer call (http://www.bobanddan.com/contact/jan17/ftwhockeyCOMEON!!!.mp3).

"Gee Marc, would you say the goalie bottle flipping off the roof of the goal was prima facie evidence the puck crossed the line?"
