Our City Counsel approved the 2 billiion...gazillion street package last night.

All major streets will be paved with gold.

Side streets...with gold bricks.

Another reason Tulsa>OKC. :D ;)

Oh yeah...we still get to vote on it.

yepper, and you just wait. The nattering nabobs of negativity who hate any public expenditure of tax dollars for anything but the construction of prisons and catching illegal messicans will be marshalling opposition to the issue when it comes up for a vote by the people this fall. I bet 1170am will be crackling with callers this morning predicting some evil apocolypse if the measure carries.

There is no way this will pass, despite all of the "fix the streets first" crowd that shot down the millions of free money for river development.

Morans.

is this a new tax, or are they voting to spend the brazillions of dollars they already collect from taxpayers on a function that government should actually be performing?

Ya'll don't need good streets in Tulsa anyway. There is nothing to do but look at the hills and trees. ;)

I think just "paved" would be a good start. Here too. Every time on NW 23rd b/w Penn and Portland, especially around Drexel, I get the tinge of paranoia that comes with the conviction you have a serious car problem, but of course it's just the awful street quality. And it isn't the only one, by far.

Yeah, it isn't a set deal yet. Nov. 4 can't get here soon enough. YES. YES. and more vote YES.

Of course, because we have a city full of NO voters, we are going to be doomed to crap streets the rest of our lives in Tulsa

It is amazing how a city can vote for a BOK Center arena but not the streets we desperately need. This isn't $2 billion check written and cashed for streets all at once - this is BACK PAY for all the incompetent leaders before now that chose to ignore this problem for decades until the situation we have now!

Oh, it just rained... let's fill it in with little black sticky stones so the pothole goes away until it rains again :mad:

Tulsa voters? you have said for ages that we need to "FIX THE STREETS FIRST" anytime a new tax is proposed or a new baseball stadium is proposed or a new anything is proposed. HERE is your chance. VOTE YES!

I'm pretty sure they'll need to release a plan / schedule for this thing to pass.

If this is a "lets pass this thing...surely that will be enough money to fix everything". Then I'll vote absophlucking NO.
