Just read this article and thought I would share it with everybody else. He seems to think that he doesn't have the ability to turn pro after this year. I know he's not a great blocker, but he still has the skill to leave after this year in my opinion.

But is he as humble as Sam Bradford?

That could change after a 1000 yard season and 15 td's.

More important - is he as humble as Chase Daniels?? Ha ha!

Great article; great Sooner.

Wow! As far as I am concerned, Gresham is one of the best players on our team right now, and clearly the #2 TE in OU history (behind Jackson and maybe #1). He has the talent to be drafted in the first round! I hope he stays after this year. I know I read somewhere that Murray can leave after this year, as well. Let's all pray that doesn't happen, although we will have a brand new offensive line next year. Great article, and a great kid.

Jackson was drafted 13th overall. I just don't see Gresham getting picked that high.

The problem is that he is soft and wont put in the effort to block at the collegiate level. Trust me, Im from Ardmore....

Noobs, chill on this one.

I'm from Ardmore as well and he has clearly gotten more physical since going to ou and he played wr in high school so him being physical or lack there of as a wr blocking downfield in high school doesn't compare to him being physical at te in college.

Oh Lord it's hard to be humble when you're perfect in every way
I can't wait to look in the mirror 'cause I get better lookin' each day
To know me is to love me, I must be a hell of a man
Oh Lord it's hard to be humble, but I'm doin' the best that I can

Do you think he's progressed in blocking since high school?

I believe so

I know that blocking is important for a TE, but he has gotten better over the last 2 years and when they don't really ask you to block in a game then how can you really. I think a lot of scouts are looking at 6'6 260 and a 4.6 40. That's pretty scary. If he improves on his blocking this year then he could easily go in the top 20 next year, but I sure hope he comes back in 2009.

Read that yesterday as well. Sounds like a humble dude. I think he's about to have a huge season

Sorry, but if Gresham is a sure-fire first rounder, the coaches will tell him to go. Just because he says this now doesn't mean he's staying no matter what. This is the dawning of the age of giving up eligibility.

Jason Witten's not that great of a blocker either, but he can sure catch the hell out of the ball and is always open; Gresham will be fine when he turns pro

The best receiving tight ends are not great blockers. That's true in college and pro football.

I like that Gresham admits he needs to improve in certain areas. Only way he will become a better blocker is if he admits that its a weakness. I remember when his decision came down to us and USC. I'm glad we got him!
