Apparently this dude started this site because Wikipedia was too liberal for him. I bet I could find a few people here that would get a nice laugh at this place. A few articles here:

http://www.conservapedia.com/John_McCain
http://www.conservapedia.com/Global_Warming

Honestly, I don’t get it. Why would anyone put that much effort into a clear knock-off or spoof of Wikipedia?

I mean the John McCain entry is better and more detailed in Wikipedia.

And, who gets their political viewpoints from Wikipedia, anyway? I go there to look up some disease I think I’m catching or some esoteric term I’m not at all catching. Yeah, I know it can’t be used as a definitive source or notes in a research paper.

Why would some people feel the need to slant news / facts / history to fit a right-wing political agenda, like Conservapedia?

Of course, these people have the right to share their views. But, I’m just getting a disturbing vibe from it.

Maybe, I’m wrong. I’m getting that these rightwingers don’t trust democracy and the common sense of the average common person. They can’t directly attack democracy, so they’re attacking real news and common sense instead.

Epic fail on this one, I think. I hope.

This is awesome.

Indeed, a recent Gallup poll of climate scientists in the American Meteorological Society and in the American Geophysical Union shows that a vast majority doubts that there has been any identifiable man-caused warming to date (49 percent asserted no, 33 percent did not know, 18 percent thought some has occurred; however, among those actively involved in research and publishing frequently in peer-reviewed research journals, none believes that any man-caused global warming has been identified so far).

This is even more awesome.

On the other hand Uranus has had no net change in temperature since 1977. A rapid increase in temperature reversed itself. The reasons for this are not understood.
