down and aligned co-pilot. see, the FRED has a big honking front truck. Methinks its six tires if memory serves. That sucker needs to be aligned with the plane's longitudinal axis when that truck touches down or the jet can go zinging off the runway, or even ground loop, which would be catastrophic at landing speed.
