It has him listed as running a 4.82 40dash. Is that correct?

thats what he ran at a scout combine.... his videos look fairly good, he has good size, and he is at the same school as greg timmons (the OU "lock" who committed to UT) , I was personally hoping for a higher rated receiver but Stoops and Co. seem to get the best out of the guys they go after so i will not argue?

yeah if they can put about 125 lbs. on him and keep the 40 time around the same he should be a great center/guard.

40 time? Rivals has him at a 4.5 with a 37 inch vert. But As long as he can jump up high enough to catch the ball I could care less about his 40 yard dash.

rivals numbers are whatever rivals was told by reynold's coach

in college, a 6'3 kid that can jump can play at 4.8

once he gets to school, he'll beef up closer to 200 and stay the same, if not get better, speed-wise

My thoughts exactly...

all this is true, and at least we aren't getting a guy who we think will run a 4.4 and come 40 time day actually runs 4.7+, we know he's not a burner, we don't care, hopefully he is a gamer.

I'm assuming his 40 time with scout is a bit off even though it happened at a scout combine. The kid may have slipped at the start of it or something and that made him have a slower 40 time either way the kid averaged 20 yards per catch last season. they'll bulk him up and he'll be a good tall wr for us in the future.

That isn't bad if that is his real 40 time. I went through rivals and the combine one day and it seemed that most people were .2 seconds slower on their 40s. Chances are that the kids actually got faster, too.

Pardon me. But didn't a certain Sooner "super-star" receiver of late who entered the draft early run a real 4.68 for the scouts that was thought of in NFL terms as rather.... just ok?

Guys-n-gals... I think 4.8 for a receiver, even if it is true, does sound a bit on the slow side. Maybe a candidate for beefing up to 240 and playing TE or H back or Weakside DE if he can keep that true 4.8.

So question number one: Is he a football player? Guessing yes if he is being recruited by this staff.

And really, we all should divorce ourselves from believing these 4.35-4.45 times we see published in the recruiting rags for these 4 and 5 star studs. I'll bet most of 'em, while it's not slow, are truly in the 4.5-4.6 range.

i bet he ends up being a dang good possession receiver. remember not all receivers have to be burners. in fact, with his size he'll be a nice compliment to our offense.

here's a video from rhino's thread for those of you who haven't checked it yet.

IfI remember correctly Mark Clayton didn't have super numbers when he came to OU and look at him!

Jerry Rice ran about 4.7. Rout running, instincts and hands are more important than speed. Having said that, guy with decent hands and crazy speed is also a good combination. There really isn't a single combo for succesful WR's. Just look at how different Randy Moss and Wes Welker are.

i think this guy is a good player, but i think a big reason we got him was for the recruitment of Craig Loston(instant impact defensive back and return man)... just a thought, he has talked about it himself.

Maybe we can get the Olympic 100m/200m winner, Bolt, to come play football for us. 9.69 in the 100 has to be in the 4.3 range if not the 4.2 hell maybe even 4.1, he's 6-5, now all we have to do is teach him how to catch!!!!

He won't need to take any hits by linebackers. Prolly already has big$ endorsements, too.

4.82 for a receiver is pathetic. that kind of speed is slow for NAIA

Jaz is Craig Lostons teammate.

Hopefully Craig changes his mind.

I still think he is commited to Clemson, but he is a soft verbal.

I think it's between us and Texas if he changes his mind on Clemson.

Them losing to Bama doesn't help there chances either.

I think Loston sticks with Clemson. These past few years Clemson has been able to pull in some pretty big recruits and according to rivals they're doin' pretty good right now as well. But we all know how recruiting rankings go so I'll leave it at that.
