After 6 years of war, 4,137 U.S. soldiers dead and 30,464 wounded, $565,497,523,091 and counting(real time counter link) (http://zfacts.com/p/447.html). Now the Iraqis have decided to honor a pre-war agreement with china - http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080810/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq_china_oil;_ylt=Au7SU4cw.wAuilRfjafujhgEtbAF

Oh, the Iraqis have also today demanded that a clear timetable be set for our troops to leave. - http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080810/ts_nm/iraq_dc;_ylt=AikJKBX7zr.TBxLCGNngAbAEtbAF Does this mean that they want the terrorist to win? Cause I could have swore that was said about anyone who wanted a timeline.

Be nice if some of that oil revenue was used to pay for these reconstruction costs like the American public was told.

Wait...you're saying that our troops should stay until the Iraqis pony up a half trillion in oil to cover our costs, and not leave until?

I am not inferring ransom, as American taxpayers, don't you think that we at least deserve an explanation on why the Iraqi oil is not being used to subsidize the reconstruction costs? Or does this important issue fall by the wayside of political partisanship? This is called accountability, not bush bashing.

Here's a good look at why.

Strategic insight on Iraqi reconstruction (http://www.ccc.nps.navy.mil/si/2006/May/looneyMay06.asp)

Yet there's sunshine on the horizon.

The opening door (http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=080808154416.uocmqv78&show_article=1)

With that potentially generating increased revenue for the Iraqi state, along with the revenue generated by reopening the pre-war agreement for trade with China, and with reconstruction efforts from U.S. efforts enabling a diversification of the Iraqi economy to help remove the teetering example of top heavy wealth as we see in nations such as the UAE centralized in Dubai and Saudi Arabia, thusly enabling the Iraqi people to have not just a political investment, but an economic one as well.

I can see some of the reason why now Tulsa and I appreciate the reply. But was I the only one at the time back in 2002 that didn't believe that this oil revenue would cover some of our cost? And for those of you out there whose fears of the economic impact of war were soothed with this empty promise, feel lied to? A promise that was made by individuals who knew it had no chance of being fulfilled.

For a lot of the infrastructure, we blew it up.

The re-domiciled Haliburton fixed it.

What's your problem?
