Bernie Mac Dead at Age 50

apparently he had complications from pneumonia. he was a really good person that had the respect of everybody.

maybe he didn't have the greatest movies but i thought he was pretty funny.

CHICAGO - A publicist says Emmy and Golden Globe nominated actor and comedian Bernie Mack has died at age 50.

Publicist Danica Smith says Bernie Mac died early Saturday at a hospital in the Chicago area of complications due to pneumonia.

The comedian suffered from sarcoidosis, an inflammatory lung disease that produces tiny lumps of cells in the body's organs, but he had said the condition went into remission in 2005. He recently had been hospitalized and treated for pneumonia.

Mac had starring roles in "Ocean's Eleven," ''Bad Santa," ''Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" and "Transformers."

The comedian drew critical and popular acclaim with his Fox television series "The Bernie Mac Show," which aired more than 100 episodes from 2001 to 2006

His roll in Bad Santa was enough to make this sad for me. Most of the dead actor threads don't phase me, but he was a funny guy. And YOUNG!!! Damn.

Soul Men (2008)


Two former backup soul singers who haven't spoken to each other in 20 years reluctantly agree to travel cross country together to a reunion concert to honor their recently deceased band member.

Soul Men is an upcoming American comedy film directed by Malcolm D. Lee and starring Samuel L. Jackson and the late Bernie Mac. It is currently in post-production and set to be released on November 14, 2008.
