yeah but he just left a 130 yard shot from the fairway short enough to come back down the hill. that and he's got the yips.

I'd keep playing.

that reminds me, have you seen Vijay putt lately?

he's almost to the point of having a disorder. geeze, i didn't know you could shank a putt. :texan:

Fugue
8/8/2008, 04:24 PM
he just made par on it

picasso
8/8/2008, 04:28 PM
makes a good 2 putt and just bombs his drive on the 500 yd par 4. playing downwind.
he hits his stick a bit farther than the Serg.

nice chip-in on 17. if you can't make a putt, chip the sucker in.

I'm an AK fan, but I think he needs to grow up some. I watched the end of the Canadian Open and he was on the last hole of the last round and he played angry, chipping it long, coming back too far, like he was pissed off. When he putted he stepped right on the line of the winner. He ended up bogeying the hole and probably costing himself tens of thousands by losing one or two strokes because he lost it mentally, presumably because he was mad about how he played down the stretch. Supposedly he grew up after his girlfriend was seriously injured, but I think AK has a ways to go. Nevertheless, I think he has an incredible swing and endless talent. I just wish he would grow out of some of the cocky brat behavior.

He's been struggling with his putting for a few weeks now hasn't he?

He better not ditch the Boomer Sooner putter.

Predictions on the winning score? I say +5

So what happened today? Storms? I tuned in after 5 and saw Tiger playing and knew something was amiss with that. :)

Yup, they called it due to weather around 2:00pm our time. The final 3 groups haven't even teed off yet. They said they were start again a 7:30am tomorrow (ET), and they expected to complete the 3rd and 4th rounds tomorrow.

the networks splice in a few shots of Tiger every 4-5 minutes from previous PGA's to keep "golf fans" interested.

If it wasn't for the trees and green grass, I'd swear I was watching The Open Championship. What crappy weather.

it's actually much worse than that. with the high scoring all these crybabies would be lambasting the USGA for making it unfair but since they are all "PGA" they talk about "tough"....

rough start by JB Holmes. +6 thru 5. Looks like my scorecard.

if it's Ben Curtis or Sergio, i'm not sure where i go on that.

Newbomb Turk

I'd be fine with either of them winning. I'm not a Sergio hater like a bunch of people seem to be.

me neither, but it's kind of amazing how no Tiger means no "golf fans".

i think it's almost worse for sergio to win, since he goes from "player to not win a major" to "not win a major with Tiger".

like the Houston Rockets minus MJ.

So much for my prediction of +5 winning; the rain has really made the course play a lot easier today

Did anyone see Sergio's golf ball just now? Right between two huge divots. Today may be his day.

Mickelson can no longer putt worth the damn. He should be winning this tourney by three strokes at least.

FIRE BUTCH YA BOZO!

BTW, I'm in the minority as I like Sergio. It's refreshing for someone to be emotional and tell the media to FO once in awhile, Unlike most of the robots we have on tour now.

I'm rootin for him and Curtis.

you can't root for both. pick one, ya fence rider. :P

good Sunday major so far.

heck of an iron shot by Serg on 15 - hit the stick.

that was some amazing putting on the last three holes.

sergio is jinxed.

I don't care for harringtom much. Meh.

Great PGA and who needs Tigger.

Newbomb Turk
8/10/2008, 07:10 PM
I'm sure CBS would have liked to have Tigger.

but yeah - that was a great PGA.

good finish. Curtis is +2 over the last 4 holes. Sergio too.

can't win the Oklahoma State Junior tournament like that.

props to Padraig. hangs around, makes the putts, that's some good golf right there. like my granddad used to say: "it ain't how, but how many".

BTW, Mickelson is done in teh majors. I saw him hit one decent putt all week. He missed a bunch inside of ten feet and you can't do that if you want to be compared to Eldrick.

King Crimson

Phil lost it after Winged Foot. i was watching him interview last week at the Bridgestone/Firestone....he always sounds kind of fake, but nothing he said seemed real.

he's done on Sundays unless it's a -22 free for all.

King Crimson
8/10/2008, 09:58 PM
you know who else lost it, Goosen. he hasn't been the same since that 80 or whatever he threw up on Sunday at Pinehurst.

which was amazing, i was there and watched him play Thursday and that was without a doubt the greatest round of ball-striking i've ever seen. it was unbelievable control.

anyone but Sergio.
