View Full Version : Rodeo in Okmulgee this weekend

It is amazing how many OHP are in town, complete with canine units and Okmulgee SD and PD on four-wheelers. They even have the OHP helicopter. I am informed the court stays open all night Saturday to handle the warrants and arraignments that flow from this rodeo weekend.

I am also informed last year that although there were beaucoup fights and stabbings, '07 was the first one in many no one was shot to death.

No. I had to meet with a client over here.Their courthouse something else. My moms family is from there. Back in the '80's I had to go there many times on family probate/old age great aunt custody and other matters. The elevator in the courthouse was a real shakey trip.

Eclipsed only by the ones in Eufala and Vinita IMHO. yikes!

A good buddy of mine, and a huge OU fan, is a detective on the Okmulgee PD; i bet he's having a blast about right now. :)

I'm stocked up on supplies, and I'm not going anywhere. Except to take the dog for a walk.

Took him a little earlier and I almost had a seizure from all the red and blue flashing lights on 75.

No, but I thought I was going to hear some. And they might have been mine.

My neighbors came home at 3am and decided to hang outside my window with all their friends, carrying on and being loud.

The apartment manager came out, yelled at them, they yelled back. He called the cops. They ran back into their apartment, and when the cops didn't show up right away they came back out, talking trash.

Then about 6 patrol cars pulled into the parking lot. Some of the guests had warrants. It was a party.

BTW....

Rodeo in Dalhart, Texas started the 7th.

The boy, pictured in this link, is the youngest of my Cousin's 3 sons.

They're all hard as nails already.

He's a pretty cute and probably a really tough one, ST.

I had no idea that rodeos were such raucous affairs, besides the bull and bronc riding of course.

I just missed the Madill rodeo when I was home.

There was talk of getting new squirrels to power the elevator, but it wasn't in the budget this year.
