As I have been going through and updating my address as I will commence to moving later today, I have found that some places are telling me my new address is wrong because they want to list Elkhorn as the town instead of Omaha. Given that Elkhorn no longer exists as a city thanks to Nebraska's liberal annexation laws, I'm assuming that as long as the street and zip code are right it won't cause a problem as to what town is listed there?

I used to send my Sprint bill payments to "Shawnee Mission, KS" - a place that has never existed - and they still got there.

Would't it be cool if Stoolwater never existed?

the USPS has an online database that you can use to verify your address. A lot of companies link to it when they're verifying addresses.

address and zip code are the only things you need

You know....

If you think about it a little...

A Zip Code gets it within a certain area and the street or route address gets it delivered.

So....having the City on there is probably just extra info.

Again...Dean is the expert.

1. The USPS has specially trained people named "nixie clerks" who can pretty much figure out everything. I remember a letter getting delivered to "the house in Prescott next to Wagon Wheel Tavern." That was the only thing on the envelope. The downside is it might take a couple weeks to get your letter.

2. Address and zip will get it there.

3. Address and city will get it there, just not as fast.

4. We don't give a **** about your name.

See, I think so too. Which makes me sad that I spend so much time telling people how to spell Albuquerque....

You can put Keller or Fort Worth on any letter full of cash you'd like to send me and I'll receive it. But then I live in Texass. They don't know which way is up becauseHook 'em all their whorn signs are pointing towards the sky.
