View Full Version : How far into the year before oSu tosses their wristbands

in the trash?Personally I think it is absurd that a team that only has one conference title in 70 years has ANY business wearing conference champion wristbands in the preseason much less regular season.I'm guessing it is some part of a see it and be it strategy on Gundy's part.

By midseason I think the wristbands will be gone as reality sets in.This Orange Puke squad Could win 8 games but could also lose 8.Personally I thnk the Ags will hit the Gundy line(6-7)wins total.Conference title? HA!

Oh, let them where their wristbands. Every team needs goals. And I commend them for deciding a goal for their team is to win the Big 12. Of course, we will see to it that their goal does not come to fruition as we march to our 8th National Championship.

Fair enough. You play Texas A&M on Oct. 4. You ban the bands on Oct. 5.

You know, though it's improbable, it's possible we could face the Pokes for the Big 12 South title. (I know, it's highly unlikely, but still...)

Wouldn't it be cool to rip those little orange bands off their wrists following that game? Like counting coup or taking trophies or something?

:)

The bands will last at least as long as The World's Greatest Offense (or TWGO) did....

the won (in a 3-way tie) in 1976, so it's only been 32 years :DI am aware of the 1976 tri-championship with OU and CU.What I said was it was their only one in the last 70 years.Prior to 1976,I believe their last CC was in 1934.

Upon further review I do find my original claim was wrong.oSu(at the time Ok A&M ) actually won CCs (Missouri Valley) in 1944,1945,1948,1953.My statement should have been only 1 title in the last 50 years.50 or 70 years I STILL find it absurd.

To be fair, Aggies likely find it absurd to not win the wrestling title each and every year. They probably find it more absurd that they are the only ones that care :D

It is part of the Aggies cultures and customs, and as an employee who just vacated a sexual harassment/discrimination meeting, I have learned that we must grow to appreciate our differences and accept them (they also said something about equality, but I am omitting that for purposes of this discussion).

Aggie will never be Sooner, and Sooner will never be Aggie. We must foster a respectable working environment where Sooner and Aggie can co-exist and respectfully appreciate our differences.

You see, the house may be divided, but it is still one house. Therefore, recognize that your sister school is not the same as you and respect and appreciate them for it.

For example, I am quite appreciative of the fact that we are good at football instead of wrestling :D

We have been very close at home every year for the past several. We are WAY underrated and they are IMHO, overrated after losing so much NFL talent. We win this one because I firmly believe that we will go into it with no home losses to date. We win this one because we will NEED it worse than they will. I think we win this one because our QB is a year older and will be the surprise (not that he should be) of the league this year. I just have a good feeling about that particular game.
My point is that if OSU fans want to see that happen, they better buy season tickets because they won't be able to get them on the street for cheaper. Look at our home schedule, who will we not be favored against? ONLY ou and maybe A&M, but I think we will be favored in the A&M game. I really think we win them all at home.

That was TGIF all over - Friday night comedy hour that you giggle constantly to with a laugh track placed overhead (in the form of ESPN D-lits annoucers) and Bobby Reid pouting on the sideline (probably because his momma already told him she intends to eat his chicken after the game), then laughing along with the laugh track near the end.

The most amusing game of the entire season... even better than Stanford beating USC.

It shouldn't be too hard to Sharpie-in "Kohler Urinals Toilet Bowl" in place of "BIG 12" on their "Champions" bracelet.

Now that the sensitivity training has worn off (in only two days time!), I can go back to being anti-Poke.

And yes, I know it was sexual harrassment/discrimination training, but it seemed like sensitive karp more than anything else.

However, in an effort to promote a diverse and welcoming college football conference working environment (ARGGGGGH!), I must point out that OSU has the same beliefs that we do - they, too, believe that all home games are going to be wins for them.

The difference is that we also believe that all away games are all going to be wins for us. Thus, with an away game being their home game this year, they might not be so ready to... as you put it, sing "KUM BAY YAH" :D

To promote better understanding with our sister school across the empty west regions :D I suggest we put this in Stillwater terms... wrestling terms.

:O Hello, my name is Whimpy Babyface McJobber. I am so incredibly weak and just happy to be playing football... I mean wrestling in this very ring. I don't care if I win or lose, I just appreciate the experience.

 GRRRR, I AM ANGRY HEEL DeKRUSHER. EVERYONE HATES ME BECAUSE I ALWAYS WIN AND I'M SO ARROGANT BUT I ALWAYS WIN SO I CAN BE ARROGANT.

 Yo, Coolio Face-Fanfavorite here. I'm good and everyone knows it and they love me for it. You know I'll win against any odds and love you fans for your support.

 AHHH! Scared Shatless Scrawny guy here, why are they placing me against all these tough opponents?!

:D Hellllloooooo, fans. Newbie Guy Smiley here. I am your newest hero! I know you've never paid attention to me before, but because of management retooling and injuries to the top guys, I am your new hero. LOVE ME!

:pop: Meh, Dont Cares VanVeteran's my name. I just live off my legacy because I don't have the desire to do anything else except make money. Want my autograph? Want to see my perform? How much you gonna pay, man.

:) I am a glorious beacon of light... oh, hello! I'm all smiles because this is MY TIME. Dellusional Dirtbag here, telling you that as the most young and talented rising star, I will have my championship soon and how soon? VERY soon. As soon as I get my shot... no, I haven't won before, but does that matter? I'm talented, dammit! TALENT! And all you other has-beens SUCK. Yeah, suckers, you heard heard me. SUCK.

So, as you can see, in college footbal life, there are winners and there are losers. We are Oklahoma, the reigning Big 12 Champions. Be jealous :D
