Purchased at auction yesterday by a collector.
They were from late in her life. 50" at the limit of the drawstring waist. Some were shocked they are crotchless. They shouldn't be. Nineteenth century women wore crotchless drawers because with the voluminously skirted dresses, petticoats and stockings, it was impossible to drop 'em to answer a call of nature. Thus, 19th c. women just gathered up their skirts, copped a squat and let 'er rip.;)
Anyhoo, I hope whoever bought them isn't going to do anything sick and twisted with them.
