yep. The dust cover can be closed and the bolt can be either open or shut. But once you fire....that sucker is coming open and staying open until you manually close it.

This is what we call an alligator cleco or grip cleco.

They have quite a lot of tension.

I have seen guys try to put one on their finger to see if they could do it.

I have never seen anyone who was able to do it. Most can't even let the pliers you use to open the jaws of it...close all the way before they are crying for their Momma.

I saw a welder I work with have one pop off the part he was welding once. It flew into the air and went down into his Big Smith coveralls.

The dance I saw was amazing. The little burns it left from his mid-section to his ankle...well some of them were very decorative. :D
