Alright boys and girls, Phil and I have discussed this years tailgate scenario. There are still some minor details to work out, but the following is pretty much locked in:

-Yes, there will be SF.com tailgate parties this year.

-Yes, they will still be at the Casa Blanca building on the corner of Boyd and Jenkins.

-Yes, there will still be season ($105) and game-by-game ($20) parking available at the tailgate site.

-Yes, we will still be soliciting tailgate sponsors ($300). Your sponsorship includes a season parking pass.

-Yes, we still have the milk jar for folks who'd graciously like to contribute to the cause.

-Yes, Mrs. Dean will be in charge of the menus and setup. Don't **** with her, she's the tailgate nazi and is not to be trifled with.

-Yes, everybody is welcome and encouraged to attend - including opposing fans. If you've never managed to make one, you really should try this year. We have a good time with good food, good drinks, and good people.

-Yes, we will have the television and satellite going to watch all the games and you can even camp at the tailgate site and watch the OU game there if'n you ain't got tickets.

-Yes, you can always find somebody with available tickets at every tailgate.

-No, we do not have an RV this year, however, we are renting porta-****ters (2 on a trailer) and we have all the awnings, tables, chairs, etc.

I think that pretty much covers it for now.

May individuals sponsor one/both of the port-crappers? If so, 1) how much for one or both? 2) may the sponsorships be on a per game basis or is the entire season required? 3) may sponsorship be noted on the door(s)? 4) who will be Guardian of the Crappers to prevent unlicensed persons and by-passers from availing themselves of our facilities and peeing on the seat?

We're already calling them "Homey's 2-Holers."

1 Brazillion dollars U.S. to sponsor a ****house.

Sponsorships are for one game.

Of course sponsorship is noted on the door.

I nominate Sicem to guard the crappers.

The best thing about this whole deal is that I don't have to see Mrs. Dean on her hands and knees cleaning up other drunken men's urine on Sunday morning, and she doesn't have to see me sticking my arm up a tube pulling out other women's tampon applicators, used tampons, and various other items from the turlet drain.

Win-win I'm saying.

Jus posted this on your duplicate sticky thread with the same name:

Dean, I was going to make a thread 'bout this:

The corner of Jenkins and Lindsey, SW side will be closed off beginning the first week in August. The area includes all the grassy area and parking lots that, up until now, have been used for "tailgate" awnings and parking.

The cordoned-off area goes from Lindsey St south to the other side of Huffman (Farmer St.), and likely over to Asp.

This site is being restricted because of construction of the new OU swimmin' hole, beginning on October 3rd.

As with any construction operation, the specific details are quite flexible, but the jist is: Parking is even more a premium this year.

Hence, a plug for sponsorship.

Maybe should be a thread too?

Those folks interested in sponsoring a tailgate or purchasing a parking spot need to peem me so I can give you the address to send the check to. No, I don't do pay pal.

So far we've got 1 game sponsor and about 5-6 season parkers and a couple game-by-game parkers. If you're wanting parking passes you need to let me know fairly soon, otherwise they'll all be taken (especially with the parking issues that Lott's Bandana pointed out).

Russell,

I have no doubt that the tailgating at LNC is good. No doubt at all. However, what the LNC doesn't have is:

-Campus Corner 200 feet away.
-Big shade trees
-Convenience store 150 feet away.
-Greek House in the parking lot
-3 blocks from stadium
-Extra parking
-Easy in/easy out before/after games
-Us

If it wasn't for that, we'd so be there...

Our Troop wants to continue the long walk from Goddard again this year.

I've gotten PO'd to many times in the last few years as folks continue to fight over corner spots and electricity/generators running.

I come to OU Games because...

1) I bleed Crimson
2) Norman on GameDay is The Best Place on Earth
3) I'd still walk from Tulsa to get to a game if I had too.
4) I walk enough during the week.
5) I like the Company at Dean's TG.

We're trying to figure out what to do with our helmets when we get there.

I'm thinking we can just lock them through the webbing of the helmet onto the bike.

I've never had to think about it as It will be our first Road trip where I have to go into a Stadium and I don't want to have to hold on to them inside.

Maybe I'm just over thinking all this and it will just workout. :D

I don't think I have time to grow the Pornstache in.

http://raskcycle.com/images/helmet2.jpgYou know, not to be rude or anything, but it's obvious your mustache is fake.

Oklahoma Memorial Stadium

this is true. I've walked it many times. my friends used to park their RV there and I'd go there pregame. the shuttle going to the stadium is pretty fast if you go really early, but after the game, the lines are ridiculous

The funny part is...it could rain and I might just drive.

Maybe I'll wear the helmet anyway.

The turnpike can be rough on gameday. :D

Ask someone to lock them up in one of the cars that's parking there as well who plans on tailgating after the game.

Just an idea.

Update:

Alright people, we're less than 3 weeks away from the first game. I've got $$ from about 4-5 people for parking, and from 1 person for sponsoring.

If you've been thinking about sponsoring a tailgate, now would be a good time to speak up. Remember, your sponsorship secures you a season parking pass and the love and admiration of ........... 10s of people.

Same goes with parking. Quite a few folks have reserved, but only about 4-5 have paid. If you've reserved, please get the check in the mail soon. Whoever sends the check gets the spot. We're trying to get all the little duckies lined up and we seriously need to know who's in, and who's out.

If you have any questions, peem me.

That is all.

Anyone want to split a tailgate with me? Maybe the Nebraska game? I'd like to help out, but can only work a half into the budget. PEEM if interested.

C&CDean

If somebody hooks up with colleyville, I'll throw in an extra season parking pass so both sponsors have season parking. Same goes for anybody else who wants to team up.

FYI, I'd prefer to host the Nebraska game.

There's a person on the football board looking for a co-sponsor if anybody is willing to hook up with him. Check the tailgate thread over there.

Update:

We're halfway home on sponsorships. We've got 3 games sponsored for sure, and still need to get the other 3 picked up.

Tenn/Chattanooga, Nebraska, and Texas Tech are all spoken for.

Who's gonna step up this year and help the brothers and sisters out?

Update:

A couple of posters have teamed up to sponsor, so now we have four home games sponsored. Chattanooga, KU, NU, and the Zorros. Way to go sponsors!! Each sponsor (whole or partial) gets a season parking pass.

Cincy and TCU are still available for sponsorship. Who's in?

I also have a few season parking passes available at $105. Only two weeks left until kickoff, so if you're interested, speak up now.

Sponsorship is $300. You've already sent $105 for parking, so send $195 to complete the sponsorship. What, they don't teach math up at Air Force U?

at the last home game, I saw a lot of chubby folks that could benefit from walking 1.5 miles there and back!

Every game I've gone to the last 4 years we've parked at LNC and walked. It wasn't that bad . . .

So, you prefer Russell's company to ours. I see how you are...

Anyone coming to today's tailgate can help out by bring regular potato chips (by that I mean plain, bbq, nacho, etc.) and desserts. Seems the tailgate nazi got too focused on the meat, beer, queso, etc. and forgot to get regular chips or anything for dessert (well other than her usual brownies and stuff).

Anyhow, we're heading that way and we'll see y'all there. Boomer ****ing Sooner baby!! It's football season!!1!1

Wanna know what was hot? Seeing Frank and his buddy with olevet juice dribbling down their chins...

We had a great time, until the rain hit. All is well though, and next week should be better. Menu will be announced tomorrow in a separate thread.

One negative - parking situation. For the remaining tailgates we will be collecting keys in the trailer so that we can move vehicles to let folks out who might have to leave early. If you have heartburn about leaving your keys, then bring an extra set. Everybody will need to drop their keys so that the center parkers can get out if there's an emergency or whatever. If you plan to go from the game to party elsewhere without stopping back by the tailgate then you really should think about an extra set of keys. We will keep your spare in the trailer until the next week, and then you can party to your heart's content, and you'll still have your set of keys.

Thanks to the sponsors, the contributers, the parkers, and the riff raff who showed up early to help set up. Doleo, BFS & Juan, and SoonerStormChaser.

Next week we'll kickoff about 11-11:30ish. Anyone wanting to help set up should be there by 10 or so.

:dean:, as we don't have tix for any of the games (unless her parents are generous to us), we'll just move our car around and park last so we can get outta there whenever the missus wants to head on home.
