Went on a 12 hour trip out of galveston yesterday for my buddy's b-day. Took 2 nephews with us. They'd been out before but when they were much younger so this was there first change to actually fish.

We limited out on red snapper with 3 really good sized ones.

I hooked into a shark (which made for delicious dinner last night).

also hooked into a king somehow when I had a down weight rig on. I was aiming for my last snapper when it hit. The shark was a more tiresome fight, but that king was good fighting too.

Sounds like you had fun.

well, I think the state limit in texas is 10, but you have to be much closer to the shore line

I must admit I feel safer from the sea critters in Galveston. All of that arse and oil and arse-oil tends to run them off.

HAAAARRRRR!

I caught a shark when I was in the Bahamas, it was a cold, rough day and was in the 40's when we landed in Freeport, of course it was 8 degrees when we left OKC. I was sick on the trip and fought it for 45 minutes and burnt up a reel. It was almost 5 feet long. It was the largest catch of the day for our boat which was all people that were part of our project team. We caught a bit more than the second that went elsewhere. I had my fishing in and went golfing the next day.
