If you do very many symbolic “last” maneuvers you’re going to be hungry, cold, without beer, music or TV and walking to your destination.

Miller is owned by SABMiller. SAB stands for South African Brewing. I believe they are London based now. MolsonCoors is still half American.

People here in St. Louis are acting as if the sky has fallen. Never mind the fact that 95% of them had no idea that the Busch family has only owned ~4% of the business for years and years. This is a publicly traded company, and now people want to rename Busch Stadium to "punish" the family. Idiots.

Heh. I think it's completely possible to take control of your life still.

Yes there may be things we can't do without...but Bud and new cars are the first to go.

I can sing and play my own guitar and I have already got rid of the gas guzzlers.

I am much happier with less.

TV...lol.

I know I can do without it. We unplugged that at the beginning of summer. I control whether or not it comes on. So far very little time has been spent watching it.

I've got the least amount of stuff you can get with DTV and the infomercials are better than some of the programs we used to watch.

Try it...you might like it.

InBev says they won't change anything about the recipe or methods of the A-B properties. Personally, I don't care. I don't ever drink any of their products. I think InBev will stick to their word and they are just looking for economies of scale and to leverage the A-B distribution channels in the US for all InBev products.

No kidding. Except for the occasional Oktoberfest brew in the fall, German beer sucks. Beer is one battlefield where little ol' Belgium whips the **** out of Germany.

And yes, some of the best beer on the planet is made by American micro breweries.

i used to like Bud, but i haven't had it in a long time. i still drink Amber Bock on occasion.

Not any more MillerCoors is rumoured to be looking for a new HQ in North Texas.

Denver Business Journal - Report: MillerCoors to tap Chicago or Dallas for headquarters (http://denver.bizjournals.com/denver/stories/2008/07/07/daily33.html?surround=lfn)
by Rich Rovito The Business Journal of Milwaukee
Wednesday, July 9, 2008

Crain's Chicago Business reported Wednesday that the headquarters for MillerCoors will be located in either Chicago or Dallas, and not Milwaukee.

MillerCoors has been looking for 100,000 to 150,000 square feet of space in Chicago and could employ as many as 400 people at the home office, according to a story posted on Crain's website.

MillerCoors is looking at three specific sites in downtown Chicago, including the landmark former Carson Pirie Scott & Co. building, Crain's reported, quoting unidentified real estate sources.

MillerCoors spokesman Julian Green declined to comment on the specifics of the search.

"We are actively engaged in the search," he said.

MillerCoors combines the U.S. and Puerto Rico brewing operations of London-based SABMiller plc -- essentially Miller Brewing Co. of Milwaukee -- and the Golden, Colo.-based Coors Brewing Co. subsidiary of Denver and Montreal-based Molson Coors Brewing Co.

MillerCoors officially began operating on July 1.

Not any more MillerCoors is rumoured to be looking for a new HQ in North Texas.

MillerCoors is a joint venture between MolsonCoors and SABMiller for American operations. MolsonCoors still exists as the parent company that has strong positions in multiple markets worldwide. MillerCoors is an attempt to match A-B's economies of scale in the US market. There isn't cross ownership between the two companies otherwise.

I'm not a beer snob, just a beer connoisseur. There is a perfect time and place to drink every beer.

-30 pack of Pabst Blue Ribbon for camping trip in the mountains
-12 pack of Guinness for hanging out around fire pit with the neighbors
-12 pack of a good American Pale Ale or Belgian White for those Spring days and Summer evenings
-12 pack of your favorite Oktoberfest brew for Halloween
-6 pack of Milwaukee's Best for taking a dump

The Sam Adams Cream Stout is pretty good, but I would suggest Rogue Chocolate Stout, if you get past the price tag (I think it runs about $7 for a 22 oz bottle) it's a very solid stout IMO.
