we've got a 24 ft above ground pool that has somehow sprung a leak; we can see the water on the grass but the leak must be underneath the pool; has anyone had this happen before? If so, how hard and expensive will this be to fix? TIA.

Drain the pool and fill it with concrete.

My parents had one growing up. I definitely remember my dad patching up the liner at least once. He did it himself and I doubt it was expensive.
Then again, if it's on the bottom I don't think you can drain all of the water out of them so maybe that's a little more complicated.

If it's on bottom the only thing you can do is tunnel up to the leak.
It's worth it though.
